DCU gets remade - all books are #1s, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League, more

Started by Rage.Of.Olympus367 pages

I'm convinced that Geoff Johns is actually Black Adam.

Seriously, they turned Billy into such a douche. Angst and shit doesn't automatically mean modern and cool. I dislike this personality change even more than Superman's, the bullshit Billy was spouting is how his supposed to be, actually I'd prefer him to be even nicer.

I'm not against change and shit, I'll give this arc a try, but I doubt I'll like it, not sure how any fan of Captain Marvel can if this is any indication.

Personally, I'm getting tired of reading about assholes.

its actually more realistic in a sense that billy has probably been from family to family. been dissapointed and hurt his whole young life. plus its only a few pages.

I found it found funny how he couldn't wait a single back up before setting up Black Adam's return. Pretty obvious Johns likes Teth far more than Billy. And I won't be surprised if Adam takes over the back up.

I do agree with Billy's personality change being off putting. I actually liked the fact that Billy was, arguably, the most pure hearted hero on Earth in spite of the cards dealt to him in life.

do you think teth will pllay a major roll in the dcnu? in general.

Hard to say.

Judging from some of the cryptic viral marketing from Pandora, it's safe to say that the Wizard and Shazam will be playing a large role in the overall mystery as to why Pandora rebooted the universe and the forces at work. Could be that Teth's role becomes fairly significant.

I hope that he's used as a foil/villain for Billy in the back up and used sparingly at that, though.

I don't care if it's realistic, this is fiction. Billy was a kid who lost his parents, had been mistreated and beaten down for most of his entire life but he never lost hope and was always caring. His not flawless, but the character was inspiring, at least at his best.

Those few pages are telling. Billy's a douche, Shazam also has the Ted Bundy vibe going.

Have to say I wasn't happy with Billy's characterization, but if he's going to be Captain Marvel I'm sure this will be an experience that will change him, as if they make Captain Marvel himself an *******?

That would be going too far.

Though I'm glad Superman is finally starting to "grow up" somewhat.

Fine then!

Seriously, though, I'm sure Billy is going to have a life altering change, just like PR said. I seriously doubt SHAZAM is going to roll up to Superman and act like an A$$ hole

Click the linky or you're stinky! 😄

Yeah. the whole Pandora/Wizard connection has me intrigued. I didn't know SHAZAM had a part in it, though.

Is the Shazam story in justice league?

I have to say I'm liking Flash a lot (sans Captain Cold's new attire).

Yes.

Looking forward to Aquaman, New Guardians, JL Dark, and hoping that this is the week Superman actually gets good.

Has anyone dropped any titles as of yet (or picked up any new ones)?

I'm down to reading AC and JL.

I'm about to drop Legion of Super-Heroes and JLI. Just so stale for me.

Dial H and Earth 2 will be new. Maybe Ravagers, because of Warblade.

Preview for my buddy, PR! Looks bad ass, IMO.

I started reading all of them. Dropped at least half within the first 3 issues or so, some within 1 or 2 issues. Been decreasing ever since. Now I'm down to

Action Comics
Aquaman
Batman
Batwing
Captain Atom
Catwoman
DC Universe Presents
Demon Knights
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corps
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Justice League of America
Justice League Dark
Justice League International
Nightwing
Red Hood and the Outlaws
Red Lanterns
Stormwatch
Superboy
Supergirl
Superman
Wonder Woman

Which now that I list them, is still a lot.... 😕

Anyhow, right now I'm most enjoying AC, Aquaman, Batman, Batwing, Demon Knights, GL, Red Hood, Red Lanterns, and Stormwatch.

Ones that might be going next are JLI, Superboy, and Supergirl

If I really had to rank my top 5 now, I'd maybe do something like
1. AC
2. Aquaman
3. Batman
4. Demon Knights
5. GL
