I still don't think this is "current day" JLA. Johns maintains that this is a team that's still learning to work together and trust each other, so I'm sure as time goes on we'll see them settle more.

it just feels like yet more filler. Kind of wishing Johns would have them get to the point.
This is current day Justice League.
I have to say, I'm surprised. I wouldn't think Diana would do aswell as this - it's present Hal, whose track record is ridiculously good (and not only against 'top-tiers' ie. see Krona) and to see him dominated like this was unexpected.
Superman stopping the sword mid-swing, by grabbing the blade itself, was nice.

This is DCnU Hal. He's not nearly as competent as he was pre-Flashpoint.

I meant in the sense that they're an established, well-oiled team slash family.

everything johns wrote is still canon.
Originally posted by -Pr-There will probably be a moment where they'll each prove their worth in some way or another (there's definitely a 'crowning moment of awesome' for Hal coming with all of the demeaning he got), but I don't believe the team will ever be "we all get along" in current continuity.

But obviously the history before that was different, Hal's personality has taken a shift, like almost all the DCnU Supers he's been in the game for maybe 5 years, etc. etc..
It's sort of like how the recent pre-Bat reboot stuff is canon with Damien and all, but Tim Drake was never Robin, Babs is like 8 years younger, Steph and Cass weren't Batgirls, and it's all very different even though they were all there at the time.

they didn't have that before, but at least they were a well oiled machine. i don't think this team has that.

i don't know about that; i mean yes, there's a time difference, but hal in gl is identical for all intents and purposes, to the one from pre flashpoint.

That sounds like The Avengers......

No but if we are being honest they're are trying to make DC 'cooler' and are trying to get rid of those aspects that make DC kinda silly.
Im not saying I think that DC was silly before the reboot I think it had a different style to Marvel to some extent. People have made the criticism that Marvel has cooler characters and that DC can be a kinda nerdy. You have to admit that this reboot has changed DC style some what and the DCU does resemble Marvel more.

Those people were speaking mostly from ignorance, though.
and no, it doesn't really resemble it more tbh.
Grant Morrison leaving Action Comics and Batman Inc.
Uggh. I've enjoyed Morrison's run on AC and seeing him go so early is disappointing. I just hope they get another good author to replace him to keep at least one Super book bearable.

Damn, just read it and you're right. Not a very good issue.
