Yeah, I heard Amethyst was pretty good. How was the Beowulf backup?

😂

I finished #12 of JLI, JLA, SM, AC and #1 He-Man.

AC and JLA are solid. SM is medicore.
JLI was bad but now I got the feeling that it will improve and somehow I like He-Man.

Beowulf is kind of cool. Can't wait to see more and JL was pretty good.

Only the strongest of the Heart of Darkness can open the box? Seeing as the Black Diamond is appearing throughout the DCnU, that probably means it's Eclipso.

Strongest of heart or darkest.

Just read Captain Marvel today and its golden for me. Billy reminds me of Superboy Prime and his potential to go bonkers and kill mass of people. lol

Agreed. Loved JL. This is what a kid with Super Powers would be like. I also literary lol'ed twice. The first time when he smashed the pillar put on a cocky grin and said "Sweet" and the second time when he fist pumped after getting the money.

This was probably the strongest issue of JL. Gary Frank really brings out GJ.

Anyone read DCU Presents? Interesting that Brother Eye has a Mother Box inside. That is why it's so advanced. It can see everyone at anytime, all the time.

And Mother Machine is tech implanted by Apokolips. Also technological advanced. One of the most advanced machines I have ever seen, in fact.

Pretty much everything this week was decent. Nothing blew me away.

Getting pretty tired of the origin stories (i.e. #0 issues) when the entire DCnU has been origin stories so far. 😬

I was really annoyed by Green Lantern Corps #0. In tandem with eliminating everything involving the original pre-52 Justice League International, they just completely retconned Guy Gardner to oblivion.

And the various "Before the New 52" issues for Batman and Wonder Woman were stupid wastes. Automatically made the stories completely irrelevant from page 1.

....hold the phone.

They retconned Guy Gardner?

^ Yes. Instead of being one of the original replacements for Abin Sur that the ring found (Guy's location was simply just farther away than Hal was), now he's just some random dude who received a GL ring when he went to save his cop brother from a gang shootout. He also has a younger sister now.

So there goes Guy's duel with Hal where they fought over Hal's ring since they both had their own rings. Which probably means his time with Sinestro's old ring is retconned out too -- wouldn't be able to reconcile all the time he spent slinging his yellow ring with Lobo anyway (who got retconned to crap now).

Even before this latest issue, current Justice League International already showed that Guy's adventures with the Justice League never happened including "One Punch." Which probably went without saying since most of that classic lineup: Booster Gold, Ted Kord, Captain Marvel, Oberon, Martian Manhunter all got massively retconned. Guy's never been a part of any Justice League for longer than a few adventures before Booster Gold's UN team got shut down.

Pretty much everything is a retcon one way or another. It is the DCnU. Like I said before, it's DC's Ultimate line.

That's horribly lame. facepalm

One of Guy's key traits was that he basically tied Hal for being the proper candidate to replace Abin Sur. It's specifically like the DCnU will do something cool and interesting, but then to counteract that, they have to screw up something that actually worked.

Tim Drake's Origin has changed as well.

Yet another reason not to read Teen Titans. Other than that it sucks, of course.
