Mmmmh... That Deathstroke intro actually sounded as a turn off.

I'll probably read it just to see Slade do cool stuff, but I'm not going into it with high hopes and I'll probably be miffed by how Slade is portrayed.

WTF? No kids? The whole reason he became an enemy of the Titans was because of his son...even evil!Slade did a lot of what he did in Rose's name, as misguided and facepalmtastic as his motivations were they were still all about his kids.

Sorry, but Slade works best as an anti-hero, ala Wolfman. Making him a bad guy for the sake of making him an ultra badass isn't interesting me. Sure, sounds like he's going to be portrayed as highly competent and successful, but also if he's just going to be some kind of evil Batman more or less, which is a shame.

I'm with OV on this one; no kids essentially remove a lot of what makes Slade tick, even Slade's horrible portrayals as of late. I'll read it for his feats, basically.

What's more I can totally see them hyping up Slade just so that it will be impressive when some hero beats him. It's going to happen no matter what Higgens says, I just wish he was actually going to be a decent character so that when the badass juice putters out we aren't left with a 90s-esque turd.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they turned him into a Taskmaster expy.

We better at least get an awesome Midnighter vs Slade rumble out of this crap.

Edit: And if you want an uncomplicated, clever, superhuman mercenary why not use Bane? Don't utterly strip down someone like Slade to make it happen.

Ugh. I'm ranting now.

i actually like slade as the only focus of the book. why? because the kids gets kinda annoying at times.

Jonah Hex and Blackhawks. Must say, I really like the concept behind Blackhawks. That and Costa rocked on GI Joe, so I'm psycked for Blackhawks. Not too interested in Jonah, but will try.

Why make the flash barry if they are just gonna make him look "wallyish"

Cyborg being shoehorned in there is pure Johns, and there should be somebody at DC able to stop him from completely doing whatever he wants, in this case make his new pet character a founding member of the JLA, nevermind the fact that the character being there in the first place is stupid as it is.

I feel the need to say it again, but I really think that Superman's costume looks great. But a different artist can ruin it - see George Perez's Superman #1 cover.
