Yeah, it was a quick attack too. It'll be interesting to see just how Arthur will compare to the League as this arc continues. If he equates Atlanteans to Amazons like you were saying, this could get very interesting indeed.

I never really bothered too much about the trident, personally. It was a nice weapon, but I always worried that if you made the trident too powerful, it would take away from Arthur himself.

Personally I think the trident(I don't like the one he has now) should be doing most things the wiki says it can. But that's not to say Aquaman should just use it instead of his own powers.
If a large area is on fire, the trident should make ot rain. If he is in a barren area, the trident should make a lake's worth of water out of thin air.
