Is Zatanna really changing her costume? I kind of liked the regular wear she has been sporting.

The only impressive Lex feat I can remember is him being a god through the Phantom Zone entity, but Niles has a more impressive resume. Bringing people back from the dead, giving himself Kyrptonian powers, responsible for nearly destroying the universe and breaking the 4th wall, etc...

That's literally the only Lex feat you remember from before the reboot?

It's that thing where DC wants their characters to be more recognisable to their older fans, so the fishnets are back, apparently.

I haven't seen her other costume.

I cant remember too many scientific feats that put him on par with the best.

Harnessing and controlling kryptonian crystals in a way that nobody ever has
Creating Superboy
Harnessing the black ring power
Created the metahuman serum that he could activate and deactivate at will
Iirc he once created a mini red sun

And that's just off the top of my head. His feats are well above that of N52 Luthor, and that's just science. Preboot Lex was also a master manipulator, businessman and economist.

His genius extends beyond scientific, even if science is where he's at his best.

Preboot, he was easily top 5 on Earth. You could even argue that he was #1 if you wanted.

Niles and to morrow have better feats imo. Niles is also a great manipulator.

Fair enough; I just don't agree.

But niles has done pretty much all of that. Created rita, able to lock and unlock powers, time travel, etc... Lex is good, but he has a few peers in the dcu.

I also forgot ray palmer. He was able to solve problems that nobody in the dcu could.

I know what Niles has done, and I would consider him a peer of Lex, sure.

New 52 Lex has, what, a handful of "feats" to his name? Nothing beyond pre-Flashpoint at all. And I'd say, limited purely to DC Earth, Lex is at worst case, top four.

I will say that this Lex seems more outright douchey and "evil" than some depictions of pre-Flashpoint Lex.

I said it "seems" Luthor could be smarter. They are definitely making him more into a mad scientist genius than his previous self. As for my top 5 list of evil geniuses, I would say:

The Chief
TO Morrow/Ray Palmer
Ultra Humanite/Lex Luthor
Dr. Sivana/Professor Ivo

Beatbok's said that Ultra Humanite was more of DC's Dr. Doom than Luthor will ever be and I agree with him. Ultra Humanite has had better feats, Pre-Crisis than Lex, IMO.

Mr. Majestic is back.

Hmmm. Curious to see how he fits in with the New 52. I wasn't even sure they'd reintroduce him.

So now instead of being a massively evolved alien species, Majestic is little more than a science experiment that Deathstroke will ultimately track down, and own, via some sort of easily exploitable weakness engineered into his DNA(or some BS like that)..?

Awesome! dustywanky

New Robin announced:

DC has fallen below the pre-reboot market share number

So, 1 1/2 years is the time.

Not a surprise with Marvel's relaunch and the growing market of IDW, Image, etc... Both of the big 2 has had their market share shrink because of this. Anyway, here are some covers that look interesting in July.

Larfleeze

Talon meets Bane

Superman/Batman

Brainiac in Superman annual

More Essence in Red Hood 🙂

Batwing

Wraith the Anti Batman

Really not sure how I feel about Jae Lee working with Pak.

Not really surprising given the drop in quality, the constant shuffling of talent and the rumblings about editorial **** ups.

Apparently so.

I would have thought that given Jim Lee's heavy involvement, we could see a universe in which both Superman and Majestic could exist together without "taking away" anything from Superman and keeping Majestic relevant in his own right. I would have even taken Majestic being retconned into a Daxamite or the Kherubims being an off shoot of Kryptonians.

I'll give you on the shuffling, but the quality has increased across the board. For the exception of the Young line.
