I like Jae Lee when he's on a book that suits him. If it was some otherworldly grant Morrison title, i'm sure i'd love it. That book though? Not so much.

Pak's words come across as a bad attempt at copying Loeb, tbh.

Agreed. 👆

Apparently Trinity War is going to be a fairly short event:

11 issues isn't very much at all compared to some of the other events in recent memory.

A possible hint at the different 'factions' of heroes that The Trinity will manipulate against one another?:

Constantine usurps the power of Shazam?:

Yeah, it's the three leagues against each other, iirc.

New Annuals, including Aquaman (f yeah)

Pretty excited and although Ostrander is hands down one of my top 10 (possibly even top 5) writers ever, I'd prefer Johns to do it, since his AQ #20 was not that great.

Phantom Stranger #10 was an absolutely brilliant read. Stranger's walk through Heaven and the proverbial 'impossible choice' he was asked to make, equated to some of the best dialogue I've seen in a comic for quite some time.

It was superb across the board.

Hey Galan what do you think of the Nu DCU hierarchy after that issue? Does this confirm that the Nu DCU "God" created all of the others pantheons like the Greek or the New Gods?

Aquaman annual looks interesting.

The issue confirms that Heaven is... Adaptable. Each soul that arrives in Heaven sees a different 'version' it-- one suited to their individual beliefs.

This certainly implies that every earthly belief-system still falls under the blanket of God/Heaven. However, I didn't see anything which indicated that the New Gods are included in the above. Given that they are(or used to be, at least) composed of pure energy, I doubt they go to Heaven when they die-- they likely don't have any sort of conventional afterlife. /shrug

I agree.

Just something of note though, the narration says there are some "that move beyond the limits of those more conventional afterlives" that the Stranger does not recognize (those strange looking planet looking orbs).

I believe that's a way to leave a back door open for any future connections with other pantheons (like an alien one or the 4th world mythos).

Of course this is speculation (except the earthly pantheons) to this point, but the back door is there.

I took that line to mean human souls that have transcended the boundaries of a 'normal' afterlife. However, that may also be a backhanded way of referring to souls from beyond the earth. It's also worth noting that Stranger states: "All this I see... And so much MORE." So we really didn't scratch the surface of what he saw in Heaven.

Either way, they definitely left the door open to blanket God/Heaven omni-dimensionally-- but for now, I *think* the intention was for Stranger to exclusively be viewing earthly souls. /shrug

Yep I agree.
Excellent issue.

Andy Kubert launches Damian: Son of Batman in October.

The annuals for October. H'el returns as does Krypton?! More Others in Aquaman! That Relic cover is bad ass. Seems pretty uber. Seeder looks creepy. Very cool cover as well.

So I read both Action Comics and Pandora: Trinity of Sin.

AC was okay. The Pax Galactica Knights seem like the Guardians of the Galaxy mixed liberally with some WoW characters.

Pandora's book was actually pretty interesting.

Honestly, I think that

Spoiler:
"the strongest heart" they're referring to will wind up being Shazam instead of Superman, which was the implication at the end of the book. Considering how he's basically destined to combat the Seven Sins, which are partly Pandara's fault into unleashing on the world, I can see Johns portraying Billy as the "pure hearted" guy capable of sealing the Sins back up. He has a ways to go, though, considering Billy's a little shit at times, but that's my feeling on it.

It would make sense. After all, it was stated in JLA #0 that Billy was chosen to become Shazam because he is "pure good".

Also, while we're on the subject of pure heartedness and/or a lack thereof, that scene in Action #22 kinda irked me.

Spoiler:
Clark basically heat visions a couple of ipads from some agents while attending a movie premier with Cat Grant. Granted, the agents weren't going to let Clark/Cat get an interview with some celebrity, but I just found the scene...unnecessary? Clark just comes off as a smug jerk using his powers to troll people doing their jobs. I laughed, sure, but I can't say I enjoyed that particular scene.

Him

Spoiler:
being so quick to put his hands on the knight on the moon was off-ish, too.

The Knight did just hit him for merely asking questions.

I checked and yeah, you're right. Clark was standing kinda close, but still.

Nice speed feat during that fight too.

Both Detective Comics and Green Arrow were the best of the bunch for this week. Haven' read Phantom Stranger yet, so.

Very happy if this were to be true.
