DCU gets remade - all books are #1s, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League, more

Finished reading Avengers Arena. It is a great story so far, and definitely worth reading(Arcade is ridiculously powerful.) Although I've gotta say: I have enjoyed GoT(namely the 'Gorr-arc'😉 more.

Thanks for the recommendation, though. I will likely continue following AA. 👆

The Bane, First Born, and Secret Society issues were good. The others were mediocre at best-- which is par for the course.

However, I did find it interesting to learn that

Spoiler:
Black Adam doesn't like or agree with the CSA's hold on the earth

He'll help to overthrow them, it seems.

For example, Doomsday already has a great origin IMO, albeit one that's already been tampered with too much pre-Flashpoint (Doomsday's appearances should have ended at H/P). His reboot is going to butcher him even further, I guarantee it.

Story rape confirmed 👆

Absolutely.

That issue was terrible. Probably one of the shittiest issues this entire month.

What happened?

In other words, par for the course when it comes to a Doomsday comic.

Even for a Doomsday comic, it was decisively sub-par.

...Yeah, I know. Scary thought indeed. ermmsad

Does it make Doomsdayslayer look good?

It makes Doomslayer look like a contender for the Eisner award.

I found the BA and Ocean Master stories good enough. This was, overall, the best week of Villians issues...which isn't saying much.

Parkers talks Aquaman. Parker excels in big sci fi stuff. Glad he mentioned this.

Nice
Parker is a perfect fit for Aquaman and I can't wait to see which classic villains he's gonna revamp.
And of course for AQ to "kick major @ss" per the writer's own words.

The Ocean Master issue was good (Beddard would also make a good AQ writer), but I preferred the Black Manta one.
And I also really liked the First Born and Killer Croc issues.

Huh?

It wasn't a great issue but I certainly didn't think it was awful.

It also helps that the art, especially in the prophecy, was fantastic.

Good art can only do so much for a god-awful story.

Not an Aquaman expert, so which Aquaman villains do you think he should touch?

Well the first ones are gonna be probably the Lava Trolls, since issue #26 is about underwater volcanic troubles or smthing.

After Orm, Manta and Scevenger the most classic villain would be the Fisherman (and he is need of a good revamp to say the least).

And then there's the Deep Six which have already been mentioned in Aquaman #17 (alongside the Lava Trolls).

What is your comic expertise exactly?

How about Charybdis?

Or, less likely, Qwsp ^^

So...

Zod beat/killed Doomsday, and then turned into/is playing with Doomsday in the Phantom Zone? Among other things. Also lol at randomly throwing in the Superman/Doomsday fight

This is my whole issue with the rushing of the comics - they would largely benefit from more issues. They just leave a crazy amount of questions to be answered in what are supposed to be "origin" issues (for some).

I've never been so confused by comics as I have been this month

Check out Superman/WW for more DD. This month is just a set up.
