How about Charybdis?

Or, less likely, Qwsp ^^

Charybdis is only known for one thing. Making AQ lose a hand. As a villain he had one power suited for taking down powerful metas, draining their powers, and it worked well for that story. But unless Parker can connect the character to something equally memorable (like the hand loss), I don't believe we'll see much of him.

Qwsp could work, but I doubt it since there's Mxy already in the New 52 and I'd hope for more villains unique to Aquaman.

So...

Zod beat/killed Doomsday, and then turned into/is playing with Doomsday in the Phantom Zone? Among other things. Also lol at randomly throwing in the Superman/Doomsday fight

This is my whole issue with the rushing of the comics - they would largely benefit from more issues. They just leave a crazy amount of questions to be answered in what are supposed to be "origin" issues (for some).

I've never been so confused by comics as I have been this month

The Arcane issue was far and away the best villain issue this month. Nothing else even came close.

Still, he's got a memorable thing in the old version. Work him a bit and a new version of him could be pretty good.

Hm, I suppose the Thirst (waterhand arc) or the Eel (Sub Diego arc) don't quite classify as 'classic,' and the former would be hard to fit.

Or, really, they should just make more new villains for him.

Coming up with new ideas is too cliche... ermm

Sticking with new ideas is pretty rare, though!

I kinda agree. I like new villains but there should be a balance between revamped and totally new (like it has so far).

As far as new ideas go well both the Trench and the Dead King are new and their storylines are great so far. Heck the Trench were also used in ToA, so I think it's safe to say they will have some staying power.

And yeah I wouldn't call neither the Thirst or the Eel classic.
The only other major Aquaman villain that would perfectly fit in the New DCU is Triton, but that might need some coordinating with Azzarelo and his Greek pantheon.

I'd rather Charybdis be reworked to be more like the actual myth, personally.

That would also could work very well.
Scylla and Charybdis vs Aquaman and Topo.
Just the visuals would be enough.

No shit.

Not only was it a cohesive self contained story that started and finished itself. But it was actually ****ing really well written.

Both of those are foreign to most of these issues. Even one attribute could have made all way better.

What are your top 5? In no order mine are:

Anton Arcane
First Born
Trigun
Ocean Master
Count Vertigo

Honorable mentions are:
Lex Luthor
Mongul
Secret Society

Anton Arcane, and then in no particular order:

Trigon
Mongul
First Born
And I liked the Parasite issue

Trigon was good, but again it was rushed, and I think it would have benefitted greatly by another issue. Mongul was good, but it needed more Mongul. And the other two were well told stories.

Best (in no particular order)

First Born
Arcane
Ocean Master
Killer Croc
Count Vertigo

Honorable Mention

Clayface
Black Manta
Darkseid

Worst

Lobo
Joker's Daughter
The Creeper

In order...

Arcane
First Born
Secret Society
Count Vertigo
Black Hand

Preview of Swamp Thing.

Looks awesome. A lot to look forward to this week.

Lovin' the Seeder arc so far. His seeds are like Herbie Popnecker's lollipops-- they can do whatever the phuck he wants.

Swamp Thing was decent. I want to see more Seeder vs. Swamp Thing action next month.

Green Lantern was also decent. Relic is my favorite GL villain in a LONG time.

Forever Evil was great.

Spoiler:
Power Ring's ring appears to be slowly poisoning him. Owlman is [obviously] phucking Superwoman, and she is with child. Apparently the face-cloaked "hitchhiker" the CSA brought with them "tore their team apart." Evidently some sort of creature nearly killed the CSA before they arrived in the mainstream universe-- I'd guess this creature is what killed Earth 2 Aquaman. Batman is alive, however, he stated that the rest of the heroes "didn't make it."

It'll be interesting to see how Earth and the Lantern Corps are returned to normal after all the shit they're going through.

Earth 2 spoiler incoming

Spoiler:
Also what Superman was that at the end? Either Earth-2 Superman was somehow brainwashed rather than killed or we've got yet another new Superman from Earth-whatever. Either that or it's not Superman at all...his HV did bend like Omega Beams. Weird shit

^ Given all the Superman bodies Darkseid has harvested from across the omniverse, that version of Supes could be from anywhere:

Yeah, Earth 2 was full of all sorts of what and cool.

Judo chop. I wonder if Alan will fight Brutaal in a fair fight.
