tbh, too few writers, for me, write lois as anything more than either an ungrateful ***** or just a no-personality part of the scenery.

I recall her as a pretty badass character. She was embedded in war zones, she encouraged Clark/Superman, etc..

Though I think some writers (or editors, I should say) assume that once someone's in a relationship someone has to take that role. Which they don't.

to me there is no reason why superman and Diana together can't be epic. unless shitty writing is a reason.

It'd be best if they had started with real buildup, rather than throwing them together because they thought it'd be cool...

Since these are new versions of the characters especially, there's still room to tweek and make 'em more interesting together.

It'd also help if they actually worked with the WW writer more, who seems to be aiming Diana/Orion.

that Diana and clark comic was horrid.

The ol' Batman/Superman had waaay more romantic chemistry.

like I said in the other thread: too few writers have the first idea how to write an adult relationship.

Judging from webcomics, indy comics, and even some over at marvel, it's not *that* hard! You just gotta let the writers, y'know, develop it and not just force it like you want.

Batwoman had a good example.

that's why I didn't say "all" or "none". Some writers do lois well. they make her a perfectly capable, good partner for superman. I just feel like the majority of them don't.

yeah, I know what you mean. all these writers not collaborating isn't helping matters at all. I would have been fine with more of a build too.

sadly enough, it did. they were totally in love with each other.

I meant writers that "make it". in dc and marvel, far too many writers are just bad at it. plenty of webcomics do it. hell, half the people I rp with do it better. as a fan of Cyclops and emma, that shit hurts.

Here's a post on the history of the Lois/Wonder Woman relationship. I bring it up because it has both good Lois bits (it's fun when she starts teasing Clark about Diana), and some not-so-good ones.

It looks pretty conclusive. Some of those I like, some are kinda meh.

I miss when Loeb wrote Lois. He wrote one of the better versions imo.

fun? its been nothing but a bad impersonation of loeb's glory days.

they were good when johns wrote them, though tbh, for me johns gave clark and Diana chemistry too. to me there is no reason why superman and Diana together can't be epic. unless shitty writing is a reason.

Yes.

Also **** you for hating on lois.

Also GOTHTOPIA is the single dumbest title for a crossover I ever heard.

Man, looks like he's kissing his sister or something it looks so awkward.

Well, after the interviewer stops blowing Pak (like Galan said), they talk about Pak's first B/S arc. He talks about Jae Lee, and how much he loves working with him, and his "ideas". pak's, i mean, which just sound like more Loeb stuff. Then "plans" for the future. new arc with Brett Booth. With Toymaster (really Toyman, the Japanese version), and an mmorpg. It's encouraging that he wants to use Mongul, but given his work so far...

He starts Action with issue 25 that ties in with Batman year zero.

Honestly, Pak doesn't seem like a bad guy, but his work on Hulk, and how bad it got, combined with his work on B/S so far... It just worries me.

TBH, I don't hate Lois Lane. I hate how she's written a lot of the time. What I do hate is when one partner in a relationship treats the other far worse than they really should. Out of all of the characters I like, Lois is the worst offender. If Johns was writing it, I wouldn't mind, but he isn't.

It's only awkward because of Superman's pose. His arms are in the wrong places, and his body is arching the wrong way. Diana's pose is mostly all right.

Them both having black hair doesn't make it look like incest, as much as you might hate Diana.

That sound bad.

Lois hasn't treated superman bad since that disastrous "engagement is off" period. I would like for you to drop some examples.

It looks like incest to me.

Chuck Austen. Haw. Some of the Loeb stuff when Clark was getting treated badly at work. Mark Verheiden briefly. I'll try to think of more.

So, you hate Wonder Woman, idolise Superman, but think Wonder Woman looks like his sister. Interesting... I believe Freud would like a word with you.

The fact that you use Chuck Austen who openly said that "Lois was a gold mining ***** and I prefer Lana Lang to be superman's wife" as a proof invalidates all your evidences. Also all of those instances in Loeb era was Parasite. The same Verheiden who had Lois go apeshit on Jimmy because he insulted clark? Also the only time Lois treated clark badly was because he was neglecting her and sending his robot as himself without telling her about it whom she assumed was her husband.

I hate wonder woman's relationship with superman. If she breaks up with him, I have no problem with her. I've mostly apathy about her.

It doesn't invalidate shit, as I was obviously joking. Even Austen's insistence that he would redeem Lois by the end hasn't been proven, so we have to assume he meant for her to be that bad.

No, they weren't Parasite. I know the arc you're talking about. I'm not stupid enough to make THAT mistake.

I said Verheiden BRIEFLY. BRIEFLY. Verheiden wrote my favourite Superman and arguably my favourite Lois, but she still had her moments.

I honestly have no problem with Lois when she's written well. Johns, Verheiden for the most part, Loeb for the most part. Busiek. Casey (or is it Carey, I always mix those two up). I just prefer Diana with Clark, and the other writers at DC undermining Johns aren't helping to give this relationship a fair whack.

You've said flat out that she's your least favourite character. That's not apathy.

Seriously, other people besides you read Superman. I know you badly want to be the "Superman guy" on KMC, but you have a ways to go yet.

Well, the heroes

Spoiler:
aren't dead, but rather, imprisoned. Ingeniously imprisoned, I might add.
... Although that really shouldn't come as a huge surprise.

Kyle gained omnipotence yet again. I was impressed that the Guardians were able to contend with him on any level-- great showing for them.

JLA's Vibe, Animal Man, Pandora, and Wonder Woman were also good, as usual. Batman/Superman was turrible, which is par for the course. Pak is going to single handedly ruin Action Comics.

In JLA Stargirl refers to Aquaman, WW and Supes as "the strongest people on Earth".

The new writer said he want's to show AQ kicking all kinds of @ss and I'd say he seems to have good stuff planned.

I got through about a page or two of Superman/Batman, so that's something.

JLA and Pandora were my favorites this week. Forever Evil continues to be great. And it looks (for now at least) like Hal's will probably isn't going to be the trump card against Relic.

Forever Evil really has been great so far.

Was I alone in being impressed by Vandal's healing factor?

No I also noticed that.
I approve.
New 52 Savage has clearly metahuman stats and hf.

And the Flash vs Firestorm Rogues battle was extremely entertaining.
Forever Evil delivers.

No, but the writing of that scene was pretty bad. I mean, his reaction almost made it seem like he didn't know it would heal until Pandora told him so (or at least that's how I interpreted it). That's pretty dumb. Also kind of weird for him to have a beast HF if he has a big ole' scar on his face.
