I'm actually surprised Lex has never been featured in the Justice League before. For obvious reasons he cannot be on it at the same time as Kal.

Adam Strange is supposed to be the genius of the team. Now, if we can only get Ray ****ing Palmer on one of the teams.

Lol, well I guess the universal disaster is ultimately averted and the heroes are released from the Firestorm Matrix. Thanks for spoiling the event, Golgo. 👆

Another spoiler! I bet this is the big villain that will haunt Luthor after Forever Evil.

Good interview. Some highlights I find interesting.

http://www.newsarama.com/20078-geoff-johns-new-justice-league-roles-for-lex-luthor-a-r-g-u-s-and-ted-kord.html

Johns: Well, they've had a tie to A.R.G.U.S. through Steve Trevor, and then ultimately, Amanda Waller. But post-Forever Evil, someone comes in and is like, OK, you're not in charge of this anymore. I'm in charge of this. You're still the liaison to the Justice League. So you know, I mean, if we don't need a liaison, maybe we won't need to deal with you.

It causes a lot of friction with the new head of A.R.G.U.S. — and his field agents… who are some superheroes who you'll be very familiar with.

Nrama: Ah ha. OK, so that may be where we'll see some heroes working. But just to clarify, this new head of A.R.G.U.S. is not Lex Luthor.

Johns: No. No. Lex Luthor will have nothing to do with A.R.G.U.S. He's the one saying we should cut all ties. We should be a completely independent team. We don't need their approval. If anything, they need our approval.

And, you know, for once, Batman might agree with that.

Again, there's so much fun in this.

Johns: The first threat they face in the Justice League is really going to grow out of Forever Evil, but it's going to be — through the first arc, we're going to see a new team of would-be heroes become the League's enemies in the first arc. So we'll see some new adversaries for the Justice League and for Lex Luthor in that.

Not sure what happened to Superman...

Though I can't see Aquaman getting along with Lex Luthor. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time.

Lol, I guess they figure that Jaime isn't a big 'audience-getter'(unfortunately), so they'll try out the original thing again... Not a bad idea(Ted's awesome after all), just kind of an odd choice, imo...

We've always assumed it was God, but I don't think it was ever explicitly said who the dog is, unless I'm mistaken. Could be The Voice, or something else representing God.

The Voice and God are one and the same. Originally it was a higher power, Spectre's master, associated with life and death as i recall.....but when Ostrander retconned the Spectre into the wrath of God, The voice was in turn retconned into being God.

Constantine doesn't seem to think the dog is God:

So I'm fairly certain it will turn out to be someone/thing else entirely. /shrug

Whoever it is, he/she certainly has a very high level of power and authority... I've got my fingers crossed for Michael.

I'm not buying that. I think this is just Constantine not believing in anything:

Voice: "The man who sacrifices everything and believes in nothing. Almost nothing. Who honors no trust. Worships at no altar...Constatine mocks me because he's angry, but not because he doesn't believe in me. He is angry because he wishes he did."

After all, the Phantom Stranger said the dog was the Voice, and neither the Spectre nor Zauriel nor the dog corrected him even though they were all present when he said it.

Michael taking the appearance of a dog and presumably speaking for God is a pretty big deviation from pre-Flashpoint. That being said, Lucifer (if that was meant to be the Morningstar who appeared in Demon Knights) was absolutely [i]nothing like pre-Flashpoint, so I'm not really making any kind of point here.

Here's a different question -- the dog never finishes this thought because Constantine interrupts him:

"The Nightmare Nurse is a creature you can only barely comprehend. She carries within her the-"

If anything this proves my point. Because Constantine doesn't even believe it's the Voice of God (because it's a dog):

and the fact that he used the Voice of God interchangeably with "God" (later as shown in your own scan, he referred to the Voice merely as "God"😉 proves my point, that the voice = God.....no?

Because Constantine seems to equate God with The Voice, it's just that the fact he/it appears in the form of a dog, that makes him doubt that the dog is God/Voice.

I think it was The Voice as well. The Spectre and Zauriel both admitted that it was the Lord they was talking too. I would love to see Michael appear but it would be out of character for him to act like this, pretending to be God is something he has never done in the DCU. They missed a perfect opportunity to show Michael earlier back when the Phantom Stranger and the other's was in Heaven. 😬

Would be nice to see Archangel Michael and The Word (or maybe they have in Destiny) back in the DCU.

I'm not questioning your point.

Just saying that writers have been very careful not to call the dog 'God'. The fact that they made it a point to have Constantine state that he didn't think the dog was God--in an inner-monologue to himself--helps give credence to my point, imo. John may not be a proverbial 'believer', but he's certainly not stupid either.

Though the dog has certainly come off as God thus far, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being something else entirely. Hope not, but I think the possibility is there.

Carries within her the what?

The Jesus-like ability to heal others? Given her abilities(as well as the image shown of her healing someone in that scan), Christ-healing was the first thing that came to mind. /shrug

Seems like more of an ability than something she carries within her...mmm

Her magic resides within her, no?

Maybe she's carrying Jesus reincarnated within her. mhmm

Nah, Kyle's off wandering around space.

Very good point. 👆

I think a part of Grant Morrison's soul died.

Now that, that is a thing of beauty.
