What's wrong Soule? Not sure about his other titles but Red Lanterns is brilliant.

Like I was tiring to say (before autocorrect screwed it up) I haven't read it. Lanterns (of any color) and ST never interested me.

Gail Simone confirmed to be on new Secret Six book.

Yay 🙂 Secret Six is my second favorite run of hers (behind WW, but above Birds of Prey, Gen13, Batgirl, etc.).

You're missing out by not getting into Swamp Thing. One of the best series ever.

Hmmmm....

As for what specifically is coming, well, “you get a chance to see the final battle between Earth 2 and Apokolips,” DiDio said. That then helps to determine “the future for Futures End.” But Futures End, Earth 2: World’s End are not just a duology, they are part of an “epic trilogy,” he said, hinting once more at a larger event in 2015.

”I think if you love cosmic, epic storylines with some interesting time travel twists and turns, this is the story, and it really sets the stage for an epic storyline that runs through a trilogy of stories that culminate in 2015,” Lee specified. The multiverse is heavily involved, DiDio teased, as well as the ‘many generations” of “legendary interpretations of heroes over the years.” Lee capped it off, promising that “Every fan will have cause to rejoice and celebrate next year.” That year? Well it’s the 30th anniversary of Crisis on Infinite Earths, as we have been hammering home for months.

So is Futures End actually worth the read? I've heard conflicting things about it... But if it ends up being "important" well, I might just have to take the plunge.

August Sales Chart

You know.... I am really surprised Multiversity only did 90k.

I mean, that's good sales, but I expected *huge* sales! Something to put DC on top for a month or two, maybe.

Eternal's still doing solid. It looks like Future's End is leveling off.

My impression is generally not, but some side books may be worth a peak.

The Batgirl issue has Batgirl Stephanie, Batgirl Cassandra, and a young black Batgirl (Tiffany Fox, related to Lucius Fox) working with Barbara. It's... pretty much the Batgirl team many have wanted to see for years ^^

Futures End is doing pretty well, especially with the characters it's featuring.

It's been pretty good lately.

By the standards of weekly books, it's doing better or even than Generation Lost depending on how you compare it*, but significantly lower than all the others (52, Countdown, Trinity, Brightest Day, Eternal). 10k+ an issue difference.

*It was bi-weekly rather than weekly, if you count since time-since-start, they're about even, if you compare respective issue 17s FE's ahead.

Like I said, it's doing well for the second and third tier characters being shown. Ray Palmer, Firestorm, Stormwatch, SHAZAM, etc... aren't the big players.

I'm not sure I agree....

I mean, 52 was mostly fairly minor ones (Booster, Steel, Renee, etc.). Brightest Day was Deadman, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and Firestorm.... Countdown was Donna, Kyle, Pied Piper/Trickster, Jimmy Olsen, and Mary Marvel.

Even Trinity had characters like Enigma and Gangbuster often take more central stage than the titular trinity.

Doing these things with minor characters in the lead has been common.

52 isn't a good example, since it had Morrison, Johns, and Waid at the helm. They bring in massive sales, PLUS it was pretty new at the time. Same could be said with Brightest Day.

Futures End is doing pretty healthy for what it is. And it's only getting better, story wise.

Speaking of John's, he talks a little bit about the Darkseid War.

Is it me or from the sounds of it, whatever destroyed Earth 3 isn't Dakrseid or Anti-Monitor? :/

At the same time, on the plot side, the Justice League is getting ready and getting prepared for whatever destroyed the Crime Syndicate's Earth, which is on its way here, from Forever Evil. We know that Darkseid's returning to the Justice League too, and those two are set on a collision course. So we're essentially building up to a big storyline next year called the Darkseid War that will kind of be the end cap to the first big chapter of the New 52 Justice League. Out of that will be -- that's going to be a pretty massive storyline, and that's Darkseid versus the Anti-Monitor with the Justice League caught in between, which is a pretty big story.

What is Blood Moon?

Just read the first issue of The Multiversity and it was so good.

Brian Azzarello, Keith Giffen, Dan Jurgens, and Jeff Lemire are not exactly small names!

Brightest Day was the fourth such series, and Countdown (the second) took most of the luster off, so I don't think there was much new-series smell by that point.

No doubt, but they're not as big of a draw as 52 set of writers. Geoff is the highest of the bunch, followed by Morrison.

I've always like Geoff more than Morrison. Geoff seems like a legitatmetly (can't be bothered to spell check, you know what I mean) good writer while Morrison has a cult. Not saying he isn't a good writer but I get a feeling there is some fanaticism going on.

Geoff is a legitimately good writer and not Morrison? HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Dear lord my sides are exploding here.

Morrison's done several plays, the most celebrated book on superhero mythology, was knighted for his work, did the invisibles, excellent parts on Hellblazer, etc.

Johns is some upstart shit who knew a few people in the industry and did some episodes of Arrow.

Johns is the Dan Brown to Morrison's Dostoevsky
