DCU gets remade - all books are #1s, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League, more

Hey, if the books suck, I'll be the first to say it. I hope they are good, though. The art looks wonderful.

And Digi, the JSA will return as was stated today at the BCC. I wonder how they'll do it.

Was that female wolf getting crush? So the big guy is the vampire? O_O

Some Vamps in fiction have the ability to morph into wolves. And Andrew Bennett is the main vampire. He was created in the 80's, I believe.

I really can't see anything good coming of this.

Unless Johns surprises everyone and has Darkseid stomping the JLA to serve as a reminder that they can't expect to solve every problem by just punching it and that some foes are just too big to smash.

But I really don't see Johns going that route.

Is it really so much to ask that comics have villains who can't just be beaten up by the hero at the end of the comic?

What is Geoff Johns track record on introducing team wreckers? In JSA I remember Onimar Synn wrecking the entire team, which included Black Adam.

He also had KOT wreck Spectre. Hal, Barry, or Aquaman might deliver the victory blow, but at least they'll work for it.

Good news, sales-wise aswell. Justice League #1 has pre-orders of over 200k, and 7 other titles have them over 100k.

Anything on the Titans yet?

That's pretty amazing that 7 titles will be selling over 100,000 copies and JLA selling over 200,000!

@Sam, I've posted a bunch of images on TT. There have been a bunch of interviews by Lobdell.

Gotta say, I'm a fan of quite a lot of the art we've seen.

JLA may have Johns raping Darkseid, but at least it'll be pretty.

Although Slade's 90's esque shoulder pads and giant sword are hilarious.

@ philo: shame lee can't draw the whole supes book. at least we have him on jla.

@prep-man: now that's EXACTLY what i was hoping to see in the Aquaman book. It seems my faith in Johns is going to pay off, at least when it comes to this book.

great artwork all around, but not sure about buying aquaman

I will be.

a couple things DC is doing that I like.

1. A few books won't be writing for trades.
2. The artists will have more freedom than ever.

Aquaman looks pretty badass.

Superman is looking better than ever, with the adjusted uniform.
(And is he already being drawn to resemble Henry Cavill?)

Some others...

Grifter!!!

Flash

Aquaman

Hawkman

Green Lantern Sinestro

Deadman

For all the Amanda Conner fans...

immy Palmiotti already has worked on the new line with Justin Gray on All Star Western, but he hasn’t worked for DC with his wife Amanda Conner since their critically well received run on Power Girl. And something’s been missing since.

Well, now it looks like we’re going to get twice the reward. Two titles by Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray and Amanda Conner in the DC Universe, on the schedule. Jimmy was heard saying that “the two books…both female characters…and one’s a lady.”

I dunno; he looks pretty much like Jim Lee's standard Superman to me, albeit a little younger.

The other 6 (correction) titles that have sales of over 100k are:

Action Comics
Batman
Detective Comics
Flash
Green Lantern
Superman

Aquaman is missing from there, but apparently orders for the last part of September (which is where Aquaman is) are still in adjustment-mode, so we'll see.

It's going to be interesting seeing Sinestro as the leading Green Lantern; where will this go?

Swamp Thing looks soooo good. droolio
