Any reason storyline wise why Batman is back to the oval-less costume? I really liked the return of the yellow oval Batman symbol on his costume once Bruce returned.

Honestly, I don't think there's any reason other than Jim Lee deciding that he prefers the oval-less one.

Aquaman on wednesday!!!

I've heard nothing but good things coming from this reboot. However, I wanted to link to this because I found it funny. It's also very applicable to the Starfire discussion that was going on a while ago:

It may just be the fact that I live in Australia, but I find it hard to believe that a 14 year old girl could not identify with a ridiculously hot, mentally impaired skank. Frankly Starfire's recent depiction has been the most realistic I've ever seen in regards to a female.

lol, ouch to females? It's easy to blanket genders, but I can't think of anyone individually I know who would readily identify with that kind of portrayal. Granted, I'm well into my 20's, so maybe I'm not familiar with the target demographic. But something tells me that kind of depiction of Starfire isn't going to resonate with females of any age, and is primarily targeted at dudes.

All 52 first issues of DC Comics-The New 52 sell out and receive second printings.

It’s official! All 52 first issues of DC Entertainment’s historic publishing initiative DC COMICS – THE NEW 52 have sold out from Diamond Comic Distributors in advance of publication. And all 52 issues will receive second printings.

Here’s a further look inside the numbers for DC COMICS-THE NEW 52:
· ACTION and BATGIRL already have third printings and JUSTICE LEAGUE, the bestselling comic book to date for all of 2011, is in its fourth printing.
· AQUAMAN #1 is the eleventh title in DC Comics-The New 52 with sales of more than 100,000. The series joins the sales ranks of the previously announced titles ACTION COMICS, BATGIRL, BATMAN, BATMAN AND ROBIN, BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT, DETECTIVE COMICS, THE FLASH, GREEN LANTERN, JUSTICE LEAGUE and SUPERMAN.
· BATMAN # 1 joins JUSTICE LEAGUE # 1 and ACTION COMICS # 1 as the third title with sales exceeding 200,000 copies.

“We at DC Entertainment thank our creators, our retail partners, and our readers, and remind them all we’re just getting started,” said John Rood, DC Entertainment Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development. “We’re thrilled to be making history, but we’re not standing around congratulating each other. We’re working behind the scenes to leverage our recent success into our long term vision for this company and its iconic characters and brands.”

“There’s never been anything like DC COMICS – THE NEW 52, as seen by our unprecedented sales and overwhelming fan enthusiasm,” said DC Entertainment Co-Publishers Jim Lee and Dan DiDio. “All 52 first issues have now sold out in advance of publication and each one of the first issues has received a second printing. Backed by DC Entertainment’s massive marketing campaign, dozens of retailer events, and hundreds of headlines from around the globe, this is a watershed moment for the comic book industry. It’s the most significant publishing event in the last 25 years of this company’s long and storied history.”

Raoul should be happy about Aquaman.

Two interviews with Geoff on the title:

Only if i can get my hands on a copy.

lol

Made my sister Catwoman #1, she's raging. She says it is "Poorly written misogynistic cheese cake garbage for sexually repressed eleven year olds." and that she'd "be embarrassed too read that in public."

I can't believe Batman and Action sold over 200,000. Supposedly by bringing in all these readers, people are also picking up some marvel and indi stuff as well. This helps out all companies to a point.

I should probably refrain from what I was going to say about your sister.

I'm sorry my sister called you a "sexually repressed eleven year old." 😎

But her view of the issue does happen to coincide with the general consensus of Catwoman #1 across the interwebs. 😈

Eh, men are just as sexualized in comicdom as the women and you don't hear them complaining about it. Then again they are the cooler gender.

😂

the majority isn't generally something i'd be proud of.

people calling a comic mysoginistic just because she shows some cleavage is just overreative stupidity.

Tbf, while Catwoman was a bit gratuitous in places, it doesn't really deserved to be demonised the way the internet has done this last week.

Same goes for Red Hood really. For one thing, I imagine Red Hood will address this version of Starfire and her hedonism and crappy memory at some point...

Remember when Superman put a hole in his cod piece to show some ball cleavage?

Guy Gardner's (and apparently Kyle Rayner's) history being retconned is more annoying than I thought it would be.

Guy treating Booster with no respect made me angry. durhulk

It's also like Guy and Ice never even met. Did they even speak to one another at all in JLI #1?
