I guess it makes sense. I mean, aside from Fear Itself (which hasn't been that great) Marvel doesn't really have anything going on. However, I expect DC's numbers to start dropping after people begin to realize what they really want to keep following, and what they don't.

A few things of note:
DC had almost all of their books sales reduced by 20% on the Diamond statistics (those with asterisk) because of the returnability option they gave to retailers - but as seen through various news reports, the returnability was practically useless, because the books sold out, and the subsequent repritings weren't counted either.
DC's best selling book, JLA, hasn't even shipped this month. Not only that, but most of Marvel's books are at #3.99, while at DC, it's the exact opposite. For every 4 DC books, Marvel needs to sell just 3 to break even. And that's with Marvel having roughly twice as many books.
And DC still beat them.
They had all of their 51 books of the books shipping this month in the top 100 - JLA was out last month; they took 17 of the top 20 and 32 of the top 50. And even the counted reprints for the JLA (some of them will show up on next month's chart) outsold the X-Men, Ultimate Comics Ultimates, Wolverine and much more. That's insane.
Justice League: Dark is selling more than the leading Avengers, who is roughly even with Justice League: International. Hawk and Dove outsold Wolverine.
Though the statistics don't show it as much, because of the close difference in dollar share (though a substantial 7% lead in unit sales - which are the actual number of comics), DC stomped them, with all of the things above considered.

its a major succces, but now DC must sustain it starting this week with the 2 issues.. I think if these number 2 issues sell and going forward then DC made an excellent choice
Yea, this is a biiiig thing, they're all real, true #1s and not just renumberings after all (except for the Legion comics).
Sustainability really is the huge question. I'd expect month 2 to be good as well. Month, say, 6? That's when I expect some of them to have taken big falloffs. Hopefully not the ones I like though ^^
Lesse, the Authority and Magic types are definitely getting revitalized.
Wonder Woman might do well. Her sales are good and it's a definite solid concept.
Animal Man seems like he's going to be the vertigo hero they've wanted him to be for awhile.
Hm, I can't say many of the other superheroic (as opposed to magic) solo books really stand out as "this one will be big!" other than the ones that are already big like Action Comics and some of the Batmanverse ones. I mean, there are a couple good ones, but none that really stand head and shoulder above the others to me. Maybe Mr. Terrific?
I hope Red Hood bombs. JLA's got little to show so far. JLI and Titans, though, are both fairly solid.
Definitely agree with Aquaman. 👆
WW is one I'd like to see be pushed to that "main event" caliber, but I'm not sure if she'll break out beyond a moderately popular run. I really hope so, though. If Batman is the to-go guy for street level crime and detective work, and Superman is the man to call for alien invasions, doomsday scenarios, and general superheroics, Diana should be the primary solo player when it comes to the mystical threatening the world. At least, imo.
Also think the reboot helps Batman more than previously, not that he really needed it, but the back to basics approach works well.
