"Of course," Vera-Kin fibs, since she doesn't have a confirmation from Valter on that.
She will make sure to convince the Kor to come to the event. I have a feeling he won't have a problem with that, unless he has some pressing matters, but it looks like he is just here to hang out.
"I'll need you to be at the event," Vera-Kin says. "Otherwise, I can't go. Or I can, but I'll find out less."
Valter had a feeling you'd say that. He purchases some nicer robes made by Wookiee merchants that have a mossy look and feel. They are still a step-up from your well-traveled robes that you've probably worn for decades.
Later, Kor Valter escorts you to the reception. It is held in the same gathering hall where the Senators and representatives spoke their piece with the Wookiee leaders, except a banquet table has been laid out.
Persons of import and their retinues mingle all about the gathering hall, and on the walkways around the tremendous hollowed tree.
She decides not to go straight to them; they probably already have many people approaching them. Instead, she wants to try perusing the party and see if there are any persons of note she can talk to about the issue beforehand.
She will make a point to see where the Trandoshans are, and see if any Osokans have turned up.
Should I start coming up with questions I want to have answered?
Some of the Senators are discussing the matter amongst themselves, sure. You can do a quick Observation+Intelligence check to find a decent conversion, instead of idle banter. Four successes does the trick, and you find two Senators debating the matter over some cocktails. A quick Savoir-Faire+Intelligence check gets you their identities on three successes, though you do not know much about the individuals themselves.
Senator Galeas Faust of Thespia, in flowing white robes and flanked by a white-armored bodyguard, is debating the finer points of degrees of intelligence, while Ithorian Senator Padom listens on. They pause when you approach.
"Can I help you?" Senator Galeas asks. The Ithorian murmurs something in his mumbling language.
