Wow, a lot of people weighing in that Galactus ran when all we have are uninformed statements from volstagg, which the arc has CLEARLY depicted is more of a buffoon with his outlandish statements (like volstagg claiming he was as mighty as Thor in one of the prior issues, Volstagg claiming that the humans were preparing for all out war against asgard, etc.). And no, that's not me being bias, that's me seeing that galactus didn't leave when the destroyer appeared, he didn't leave when mjolnir was pulled from thor and was brought to the destroyer's hand; he left when surfer told him the seed was gone.If he had left when the destroyer appeared, if he had left before surfer told him the seed was gone, then that would add weight to volstagg's statement. As it is, it's just a fat man boasting.
And NOWHERE at all in the comic does it state that Odin entered the destroyer. Neither was it some "trick" to get Galactus to leave. Odin even told Thor, who accused his father of messing around with tricks and deceptions, that he wasn't being deceptive and that
"I lack the strength to continue braining that monster"
And Galactus isn't forced into a truce because the destroyer stood in his way. Galactus and asgard were forced into a truce because loki through the seed into the world tree and that finding it would be the equal of finding a needle in space/time, meaning neither party could control the seed and therefore further fighting was pointless. THAT is why an uneasy truce is formed. Really, did people offering opinions on this even read the issue yet?
one last thing re: volstagg's statement. I'm going to ask fraction to clarify this so no one is left misconstruing it.
Spoiler
Odin "I lack the strength to continue braining that monster"
Ya Odin knows he would lose if he keeps fighting Galactus no duh.
However Odin states he summoned destroyer. The Glowing around Odin and destoryer makes it clear odin is inside also the scene where mjolnir leaves Thor and is stated to have a mind of its own as we seen in the bubble above odin.
The only thing you got right was Galactus leaving b/c of not sensing the seed.
However Galactus was still POed about the asgardians and wanted to blast asgard away.
He did stop b/c of destroyer.
Odin then comes back up after we no longer see destroyer and it wasn't not the Odinsleep.

I don't know what you're doing about calling me a fanboy when your username is Dark Odin. LOL.
Summoned =/= animate or control. The destroyer was already acting independently of odin when loki took the seed, that much was obvious.
The "only" thing I got right? You forgot to include where you were insisting that odin had stalemated Galactus in another thread, no you go on as if you knew that wasn't the case the entire time. Duh. Pathetic.
Actually this destroyer stuff will also need clarification from fraction.
Try to follow along with my logic
1. Odin hides the seed in the destroyer
2. Odin, beat up after headbutting galactus, is muttering about the seed and how it ties into the prophecy, etc.
while Odin is telling this to thor, Loki takes the seed from the destroyer, the destroyer activates and loki runs away
3. Odin passes out
Now, if Odin was actually in the armor, when Thor asks Odin
"Where is Loki? Where is the Seed? Surfer said..." (Surfer had just said the seed is gone)
Odin responds "I know nothing of the Worldheart [the Seed] or that whelp you insist on treating like blood"
Really? So, Odin hid the Seed in the destroyer. Now, let's assume Odin did go into the armor. How can he know "nothing" of the Seed? he would know it's no longer in the armor with him. And again, this disproves what you were arguing ridiculously in the other thread, that Odin animated the destroyer soon after he headbutted Galactus. Because if he did animate the destroyer after headbutting galactus, then he would know that Loki took the seed out and that loki ran off.
Alas, what you wanted to be, is not.

I see right through you Quan. I know you better than you know yourself. So Galactus decided to take a nap? I guess the itis' affects even cosmic beings. He grew tired because he was hungry. Galactus ran from the Odin Destroyer in fear. He's a coward.
Other way around. I joined his club and made a hostile take over. Thor's the most powerful being in existence (Way powerful than that weakling Thanos). Next to Superman of course.
Galactus grew weary of Odin and his unsuccessful attempts at stopping him which in the end just amounted to a colossal waste of time. Loki saved asgard. It's ironic because he in a sense was responsible for it being destroyed by the Void.
Nah, Phil put an s on your chest and dubbed you Red Son Superman. You probably laughed and cried tears of joy you asgardian traitor.
Galactus>>all out Odin while Galan just stands there and waits for Odin to attack.

Honestly, don't try and read too much into it.
Odin feigned the extent of his injuries because he knew Galactus would most likely win in the end so he summoned the Destroyer. With the seed gone and Odin in the Destroyer, Galactus chose to leave rather than fight such odds and left, the end.
Some shit doesn't make sense but I don't think Fraction cares. Sometimes what we see on panel is all we get.

I'll try not to have too much of an impact on your personality. It'll be hard because I know how much you idolize me.
Galactus saw Odin in the Destroyer and fled because he's a COWARD. You could see the fear in his eyes as the Destroyer crackled with energy.
Philo is the Wonder Woman to my Superman. I own him.
Galactus was paralyzed by fear (Typical of a coward) as he saw Odin charging him with power at least equal to the Power Cosmic.
Originally posted by Power Cosmic IIHe did stalemate him in a TP battle neither side won I guess you forgot that. NO I argue that Odin alone was causes Galactus trouble and Galactus's powerl level is above odin but not enough to beat him and 11 other skyfathers. Odin by himself stalemated Galactus is a TP battle and doubled Koed himself and galactus. THE Destroyer has never has been able to act without a life froce LOKI summoned the destoyer once usifn tarene as a power source. Odin summoned his life force in destoryer and summoned Mjolnir or we can say that you think it happened Odin pretend to sleep while he summoned the someone to do the dirty work

The seed wasn't there. That's the only reason he was there in the first place. Loki effectively saved the entire realm of asgard which let's face it he couldn't prevent the Void from wrecking shop so this sort of makes up for it. What's funny is two enemies opposing asgard have easily been superior to it's combined forces. Void chose death due to the guilt and Galactus wasn't interested without the seed.
I hope the next asgard is in peril arc we have we get to see Thor andn Odin kick son tail. As a Thorbag for a time I feel it's due.

Look, I disagree with pretty much all you said (Odin in the destroyer...well it's ambiguous whether he literally was--and odin's statements indicate the contrary--or whether it was just him controlling/directing it somehow, which would explain mjolnir) except the end. however the arc is over and fraction intentionally left loose ends so he could spill out more shit stories and be purposely non-committal in what he wants to portray.
I'm going to ask him, on behalf of kmc members such as myself and others who have been arguing about this throughout the arc
1. why is the deciding (and basically entire) moment of a fight 40+ years in the making a huge headbutt
2. what's going on re: destroyer and odin, did it cause G to withdraw or not, etc.
3. What was the point in revealing the seed as a story element only to have it literally be tucked away in the destroyer for a few issues only to end up where it was found with absolutely no resolution whatsoever
4. what was the point of thor getting the wound (unless it will heavily factor in to his purported "death" at the hands of the serpent)
Personally i'm not even sure if i will ask since i'm almost guaranteed to get some shit answer like the question that was posed "so was thor really saying he couldn't take hulk?" and the answer "I don't know, you tell me"

No, because he would have confirmed to thor that the seed is indeed gone. Thor isn't taking surfer's statement entirely at face value (he wants to confirm from odin) but instead of giving thor the confirmation he's looking for, odin basically says "i don't have any idea what you're talking about regarding the seed nor loki" because at that point in time, he is neither aware the seed is missing nor is he aware that loki has disappeared with it. hence "i know nothing about the things you're asking me"

it's almost irritating. why even bring the seed up if you're just going to literally end up back where you started. terrible. at least hide it somewhere else, and then use it against the serpent. something other than "this whole thing was pointless since it's right back were it was originally" out of sight and out of mind.
