Odin VS Galactus

Alright, my opinion that I'm weighing in is that Volstagg is mostly an idiotic braggart (which he is. He's my favorite of the Warriors Three and is my favorite Asgardian period. He's a coward, an idiot and a braggart and never should be taken at his word).

What I find confusing is the second scan. The only thing we have to go on is Galactus' eyes and his hand, which really doesn't actually show what's going through his head at the time.

My opinion on the matter, which is just my opinion and can not be backed up by un-inferred on-panel evidence, is that during the second scan Galactus is in telepathic contact with the Silver Surfer and he leaves the battlefield once he learns that what he has sought after is no longer there.

We can't take Volstagg's word as the gospel truth and I personally would see Odin's line about "braining" as him just trying to save face. Because honestly, regardless of who you think would win or who is more powerful, he definitely came out looking way worse from that confrontation than Galactus did.

But that's just my opinion as a previously impartial third party observer. Feel free to rip it apart or flame it or whatever will definitely end up happening because my opinion runs counter to the idea of Galactus being a coward.

I have never contended that Odin should be in Galactus's weight class; IMHO, Odin (a mere Earth level diety) should be utterly and completely crushed by a major universal force like Galactus...

Factions writting was garbage, but the intent and perception was clear; Galactus is well above Odin...he defeated Odin without really fighting back.

An all out attack from odin which sealed his own doom. That's the only way he really sorta affected Galactus who just healed from it. That to me makes it perfectly clear Odin's best attacks can't beat Galactus so they are not peers as it wasn't close.

Its pretty clear to me as well that Galactus was about to throw down with the Destroyer, but once he became aware that the Seed was not in Asgard, he left as there was no further point in being there...

And for anyone thinking Odin was still ready to tussle with galactus? Odin asks for help to get up from Thor... And when the doesn't you see Odin in virtually the same slumped over position.... While galactus could care less about bolster or the other insects before him.

Now I admit i take a degree of satisfaction from the outcome...but this post makes odin sound so pathetic, it's almost comical 😂

the issue sucked. i don't think g was afraid to battle, but i DO think he realized it would have been a lot more difficult hence descretion as opposed to valor. not sure what would have happened had they fought.

it also doesn't seem that odin entered the odinsleep at all. the whole thing was f'd. as well as making a mockery of the battle, a disgrace of odin via a headbutt and some of the worst dialogue ever, fraction ever managed to f up the ss! what the hell?? what a terrible outcome IN ALL WAYS.

Is it me?Cause I don't think anything was resolved with this Odin Vs Galactus fight.In issue 5, after Odin Headbutted Galactus, we see Galactus getting up while Odin at that time seemingly entered the Odinsleep.Then in issue 6, we see Thor's hammer Mjolnir flying into the Destroyer's hand.And then later on, Odin admitted to summoning the Destroyer.If Odin was really in the state of the Odinsleep, he wouldn't be able to do that.Odinsleep is when Odin is most vulnerable.Even Thor admitted this when he inherited the position of being lord of Asgard when he was reviving his fellow Asgardians.Heck!He had Balder at that time guard him and lead Asgard.And Odin was the only one who can take the enchantment from Mjolnir(Fear Itself#1).Now I wont call Galactus a coward.Its pretty clear He was still ready to fight the Destroyer w/ Mjolnir summoned by Odin.But we can't really claim Galactus is still at 100% well after getting headbutted by Odin.I'm pretty sure it would have weakened him.How weakened would be the question.And if Galactus did do a throwdown with the Destroyer, it wouldn't go well with Galactus since he got beaten by Thor at hungry levels.

Headbutts all around! Now we know that the ultimate Asgardian attack aint no godblast or odinblast or anything, the most powerfull Asgardian attack is the ultra headbutt passed on from father to son.

Though I must admit, I found the results to my liking and putting Galactus on a higher level than a skyfather powerwise.

But then again, the entire story was rubbish and senseless. WTF was the stupid wound for anyways? then there's the insta beard, then there's the new herlad...WTF? why do new heralds take the look of the surfer?

IMO, this shows that Odin can give Galactus pause but thats it. No skyfather level being should be able to beat Galactus.

@igniz I can understand your position but odin couldn't even stand up under his own power...

But who cares the whole thing was crud...

In the way that Galactus is supposed to be a badass mother****er, born at the beginning of the universe, from the union of past universe's Eternity and Galan. He should be the third face of the Living Tribunal, between Eternity and Death.

IMO, he should be written in a way where he could, if he wanted, piss on Odin, just before the god beg for mercy. But that's not the point.

The point is: what the **** is that seed?! It's the seed of the next Galactus?! How could it be?! I don't get the point. I'm also pissed off that the big man doesn't get a proper treatment.
