Yeah I think thats pretty nutty to think it will outperform the other movies since that was the first time spiderman made its appearance on screen.The name alone was what drew so many people to the theaters.

The name isnt fresh anymore.I dont think that this movie will make as much money as the first two films did either since there have been 3 films made already so it wont be fresh anymore especially since they are redoing it all over way too soon.

I guarantee there will be a lot of loyal spidey fans who stayed away from the theaters the first time because of his organic webbing who will be there this time so it will have a good turnout but I dont see it making more money than the first two did especially since again,its coming out so soon after the others.

Many People will stay away because they will be thinking that its just another sequal.Just look at Batman Begins.It was made many years later after the last Batman movie longer than this movie is being released and the turnout at the box office was poor because many thought that it was just another sequal to the movies.They did not realise it was a restart all over again.

What Im hoping is that this movie follows the footsteps of Batman Begins.Batman 89 was so horrible,not at all loyal to the comicbook,neither was spiderman 2002 but because many people thought Batman Begins was just another sequal instead of a restart,they stayed away and it did poorly at the box office.

Word of mouth that it was not just another sequal did not get around until the movie was alomost out of the theaters but when they made The Dark Knight a couple years later,word had already got out to everybody that it wasnt just another sequal to the other Batman movies and once they learned how great Batman Begins REALLY was,they were lined up in droves and were anxious to see The Dark Knight.Thats what I hope happens with this film series.

So far they seem to be pushing the right buttons this time and it looks loyal to the comicbook with the mechanical shooters and Gwen Stacy in everything being in the film.So hopefully this movie will be really great like Batman Begins was and when they make the second film,like with Nolans Batman movies,people will be lined up in droves to see the second spiderman movie and that film WILL outgross all the others and it will be even better than the first spidey film like The Dark Knight was with Batman Begins.

This movie seems to have all the elements from the comics that were missing in those disgraceful Raimi films.Raimi pretty much when making his films,copied so many things off of the superman movies instead of making his own movie.second film like superman 2,loses his powers,3rd film like superman 3,is treated as a hero among the city and given a key to it. This director seems looks like he is being loyal to the comicbook giving us all the elements from them that were missing in Raimis films. 🤘 👆

Darth hit the nail on the head earlier that even in the 70's show you got to SEE more of what a genius he is than you did in Raimi's films.Like Darth said,big deal if they talked about what a genius he was in the movie.who cares? I want to SEE it in the film.We did not get to see it in Sams movies.

Like he said so well,we need to get to SEE it like we got to see Tony Starks genius in the Iron Man films. Its disgusting that we got to see Starks genius in the Iron Man films but we never saw it in the Spider-Man films.a character who is much more popular. 😠

This SHOULD be the first spiderman movie being made right now.Its far more loyal to the comic with the webshooters and seeing his genuis demonstrated and his sense of humor and funny one liners.

Just saw the trailer just now this new version here and I am excited and pumped for this.I can already tell its going to be far better than that horrible 2002 version. There was enough information in that trailer from 2002 to know that it was going to be a horrible movie.Mary Jane acting more like Gwen Stacy and nothing like Mj from the comics as an example. Every trailer I have seen for this movie has got me excited and pumped.They seem to be pushing all the right buttons this time.

The thing I am worried about though is that it seems Gwen knows that Peter is Spider-Man.That I dont like.after all she says her dad has 500 police officers looking for him.they cant be looking for Peter so they must be looking for spider-man.That is a mistake they could have done without.

They also seem to be showing too much already for the future.If Gwen already knows Peter is spider-man then it looks like she will probably die in the next film because its obvious we are going to get to see The Green Goblin the next time around since we saw the oscorp Building.Which means if Gwen dies,then he will probably hook up again with that whore Mary Jane again. 😠

well the one good thing that will come out of this Im sure is you got to assume since they are doing his character right this time giving him the mechanical shooters,that they will also redeem themselves in the next film as well with the goblin suit giving us a suit that actually looks like a goblin having the purple clothing over it and not being all green looking like some alien from outer space.You could only laugh at that costume.

I just dont feel good in the direction they are going with this if Gwen indeed already knows his identity.I hated it in Raimis films that MJ found out his identity in the second film. Guess its not too surprising since Sonys name is attached to this.

Cant understand why Marvel cant get the rights for this and take them away from sony. 😠

Meh. I think the Raimi films were good and Tobey Maguire nailed the angsty/nerdy side of Peter Parker. Sure, he wasn't flinging one liners left and right like he does in the comics, but I didn't mind. This reboot looks like it's trying too hard to be dark.

Because it's a similar situation. Superhero movie with a huge budget, expecting to make close to a Billion, but made 400m. Guess what? 400mill is A LOT. But NOT GOOD ENOUGH for Superman, and such a high budget. So Bryan Singer got fired!

What?! Thor make a Billion? Don't be daft. And despite how common superhero movies are now, Avengers is still killing it. The Iron man movies also killed it. The Dark Knight absolutely killed it. So these excuses won't be bought by movie studios, especially when concerning possibly the most profitable single superhero.

You think movie studios will buy these petty excuses? No. They just go by money. And if the money for such a big franchise suddenly drops like a bombshell then trust me they're not going to be happy about that.

Your not listening so there's no point carrying this on.

But btw I heard on one of these boards a movie has to make double it's production cost before it even cuts even. Remember cinema's take their share of the takings.

So double the budget of $220m and do the math of how successful a $500m movie would be then. When there's a budget that high, takings are expected to be much higher than $500m I promise you that.

No worries, mate;I didn't think you were of of same insane mindset as Mr. Parker, that kid just can't let things go.

I had my doubts when the first snippets were released last year; I've since changed my mind and believe that it will be in the very least a decent film, if not outright good like Spider-Man 1 & 2.

See, I have the opposing opinion, people who love comic films and who would see (have seen) Avengers and TDKR, will definitely go see The Amazing Spider-Man as well on the sole merit that it's a comic film.
