The Gems seem to have been written down...........a lot, since the Infinity Saga concluded.
If it was the "Classic" IG, then he'd wipe out their entire race with minimal effort. Today's IG? He'd get killed after a long bloody battle with the Celestials losing a lot of members but still coming out on top.
PS What FF issues did that "Reed with random gun >>>>>IG vs Celestials" take place in?

Most definitely written down. There were scans of alt reality Reed saying the Gems only function in the universe they are native to. There are scans of Warlock saying that the Gems derive their power from the Big Bang energy known as the Power Primordial (why does this matter? Because in another issue Reed called the PF the energies of the Big Bang and the PF is a joke IMHO).
I'm going to wiki that issue (FF 572) something sounds fishy about it.

Two IG holders annihilated by one of the rogue Celestials of Earth 4280 the third holder saved by Reed
Yet another alternate reality IG being used against the Celestials this time with some success, but they keep coming
Starbrand Reed survives being assaulted by a Celestial (as opposed to two IG wielders being annihilated!), Reeds weapons cause the rogue Celestials to retreat!
I think those are in order, I just got these from other websites and forums by googling around. The writer and editor should be punched in the face. Going by this, the Celestials in an epic r@pestomp.

AFAIK, the IG that Thanos wielded hasn't been used since Infinity War. All other IGs were either fakes or alternate reality IGs.
