Oh ok. I read those before.
For Illuminati, I don't believe the gauntlet ever featured the gems to "act in unison" as LT decreed. They just called to each other...so from my perspective, it still wasn't used in the same terms as Thanos/Magus/Nebula/Adam Warlock used it.
For Avengers, I had the feeling that stark could have achieved the same affect using the space or time gem. And, IIRC he then "wishes" for the gauntlet to disappear...I think that's possible using just the reality gem while connected to the other gems.
In other words I think the gems can be collected together and used, just not used "in unison" which was LT's decree, IIRC.

I can say this with certainty, because when Magus first assembled the incomplete IG, he was unable to, even slightly, activate any of the gems:
...But Reed and Tony very clearly were able to utilize them.

What happened then?

That's contradicted by an incomplete IG redirecting the Ultimate Nullifier. So it's still nebulous at best.

Scathan and Tiamut are members of the Celestial race and theres a freaking universe (or atleast a dimension) full of them...Its inevitable; Thanos losses....
Well there are an assload of celestials thanos defeated beings exponentially more powerful with a friggin smile on his face.
Originally posted by TheLordofMurderI still don't believe that scathan is greater than LT. I've seen the scans.
Scathan defeated a foe that was apparently beyond the Living Tribunal; if he alone can manage that, then Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet has no prayer against the entire Celestial race...
But just doesn't work with me.

it took doom 400 years to beat them with the IG in a what if
Doom also had The Beyonders power and (at the conclusion of the battle) the infinity gems were shattered and most of the Beyonders power was burned out...
So once again, Thanos is losing here...
Edit: beaten by zopzop! 🙂

Most definitely written down. There were scans of alt reality Reed saying the Gems only function in the universe they are native to. There are scans of Warlock saying that the Gems derive their power from the Big Bang energy known as the Power Primordial (why does this matter? Because in another issue Reed called the PF the energies of the Big Bang and the PF is a joke IMHO).I'm going to wiki that issue (FF 572) something sounds fishy about it.
IN which comic was it stated that IG derives energy from big bang?
do you have scan ?
