Does Gandalf even have any magic abilities other than turning his wand into a flashlight? I thought he was just the cool old guy that smoked weed and had badass fireworks. You know, like a magician and shit. Voldemort was some evil warlock mother****** that was bent on killing children whom had to be protected by super powerful wizards in an elaborate plot. Gandalf rode along on a long journey with a bunch of highly trained warriors, some of which were better at magic than he was, remember when liv tyler summoned those horses and shit? Yeah, why wasn't Gandalf doing that kind of stuff? Probably because he was smoking that long leaf weed.

Common sense. Have you seen Gandalf the White in action? Between his shields, reflexes, TK and burning stuff with his mind, I don't see what Voldy can do besides breathe through his snake nose in rage.

Here is Gandalf the White. He sits back for over fifteen seconds and just sits there like an idiot. Witch King destroys his staff, easily.

What reflexes, what's powers, what skill, what awe...... 😂
Here is Aragorn a man with no magical powers at all defeat all of the Nazgul on his own. A torch was rather effective against these Nazgul.
Here is what real wizards are capable of in battle.

Note the giant fire snake here which would own all of the Nazgul at the same time along with Gandalf.
Voldemort's reflexes, powers, ruthlessness, range make this an easy win against someone who sits back for fifteen seconds like an absolute idiot.
It's like comparing one guy who has a spell similar to an iPad flash light against someone with a kill shot every time it connects.
🙂

Watch the movies, trollstacado.
I'm going to stick with Vold here, although not for the butthurt reasons Quan is. IMO, Gandalf may be more powerful in hyperbole, but Vold has better feats and more versatile magic. If we were using book feats, I would give Gandalf the win, since he has more feats and more explanation of his divinity, but as far as pure film versions go, I think Vold had better showings.
As far as Vold beating the Balrog, while I don't think Vold could beat it in a prolonged fistfight like Gandalf did, I do believe he could use his telekinesis and intangible flight to aid him in burying the Balrog in a pile of rubble. Durin's Bane would try to hit with the success of using a whip to hit a fly. I think he has the potential to beat DB.
