But wouldn't Bane see that coming too? Also even if we ignore the Talia twists(which I personally like to do), Batman still had to create some sort of plan of attack so that random pot-shots wouldn't happen or making sure that Bane didn't decide to activate the core early. So if he were to do somethine at night..he should've at least spent the time doing something that would make it easier to find the nuke/core/whatever. Besides Batman was MIA for months..on top of the years prior to said months, so I doubthe had the time to work out a plan at night.

To be honest, I'll actually buy the "I'm Batman" excuse for that.

Batman would still be outnumbered even if he had the advantage of night/stealth on his side. The Bat being hidden in plain sight is another issue all together. The scene with the bat signal was in general kind of stupid, though admittedly pretty cool to watch. It was a waste of valuable time during an even which required no wasted effort. It also implies that Bruce actually made it to Gotham before nightfall or likes to make side-trips. Well I guess he could've been doing stuff before then.

Yeah...the unarmed(or poorly armed) cops charging at the armed criminals and tanks was another of the movies mess ups, though I ignore that over the more pressing ones.

You forget, you kinda have to pay to see the movie first, before walking away & forming an opinion of whether you liked it or not...so sales doesn't reflect on whether it's a well written story to begin with.
Take Avatar for example. Highest grossing film to date...pretty visuals that gave its popularity but still a mediocre plot.

I'm glad you've enjoyed this movie so much you've sat through it 4 times but for me, personally once is enough. I don't think I'll even bother seeing it on dvd again. As per, Batman Begins it's always a pleasure to watch.

What would've Bane seen coming?
As far as Bane was concerned Bruce/Batman was rotting in a pit half way across the world. Furthermore between Batman's absence, the time it took to heal his back & the dubious, unknown way he was able to get back to Gotham...would've made it impossible to calculate when exactly the bomb was going to explode & how much time he had to stop it.

Once again if Bats was that concerned about finding where Bane hide the trigger, he wouldn't have wasted or risked his life on foot, battling through crims to get to Bane. He could've once again used The Bat to drop him off closer to Bane on the steps of city hall than taking his chances fighting through a crowd of armed crims & wasting the energy he needed to confront Bane again.

Maybe we can agree to just lousy, lazy story telling on Nolan's part, eh?

Or he has a different view of Batman than you?

The idea that Nolan's Batman's conventions don't fit with yours must be due to "lazy writing" is absurd.

I mean you've got a problem if you use "climax" & "foreplay" in the same sentence.

Nah, the climax can contain the entire final battle. Hell, certain books contain multiple climaxes.

As I've stated before, Nolan's Batman doesn't confirm with the mythos created over 70 years ago.

It's honestly not my conventions but the countless writers who have written Batman comics & the previous movie scripts that I judge & compare Nolan's version to. The guy names his last 2 movies, "The Dark Knight..." but clearly has no clarity to the actual character he's writing about.

I've read 2 examples on KMC where posters have described TDKR as "more like a cop drama" & The Godfather series...not it's clearly about Batman, his defeat, his rise, his finale.

On the topic of Batman being out and about in the daytime: If it were always night time, the perception of time going by would fly over people's heads, then people would complain:

Time freakin' stopped

Why is it always night time in Gotham?

What happened to morning?! Fafolz, movie error!

Why is Batman a douche and just waiting for the sun to go down while people die? If that were my movie, I would've made him get to it asap.

Yeah, he created his own adaptation of Batman just like countless writers have before. Sure, you may not like his version but that doesn't mean it's lazy writing.

No...once again based on the mythos, Batman is a detective as well.
I can't count the countless times he's shown a) sleeping during the day. b)working out or even tending his injuries during the day & c) in front of the computer in the cave doing for his detect work....during the day.

Well if we pretend the flaming Bat on the bridge never happened, Bane could still notice if his troops are getting picked off one by one or at once. Doing something to find the nuke was just a suggestion for something that could've been done other than making a flame bat. Plus he could've learned how Bane was moving it from interogating some thug though that's probably just wishful thinking.

Well he had to draw Bane out somehow. I mean a giant resistance of poorly armed cops seems to do that just find. And since shadowy/ninja fighting doesn't work so well, what's the harm in putting Bane on an even field...I'm not going to even try to defend what happens afterwards.

woe you just made me realize something a flaw in the movie, how on earth did batman get back into the city since the bridge to leave or enter was closed off??

He flew over in the Bat.

^ The Bat was parked on a Gotham rooftop, it wasn't outside the city limits.

The last time we see it, prior to him getting captured by Bane, is when he parks it in the Batcave.

But after Bruce gets back to Gotham, makes his presence known to Gordon & Selina & Miranda takes him to Lucius. Lucius asks Bats if he remembers where he's parked The Bat & it's shown on top of a building hidden under a canvas sheet...
