What a nerd.

He wants to beat them in a moral battled because he got killed three times in conventional combat already. Madara is one half-cooked powerhouse.

Like Harry Potter or Harry Dresden?

Yes, and yes.

You mean like it is in Naruto?

To some degree, yes. But in Naruto shinobi aren't taught the same abilities from what we've seen. But rather their training centers around what they're good at, taking advantage of bloodline abilities and whatnot.

Like Slayers? Or Harry Potter again? Or several D&D worlds? (Eberron, Planescape, Spelljammer)

I'm not into Dungeons & Dragons lore, but for Harry Potter and Slayers, yes. Especially for Slayers. In my mind magic works best when it's abstract and obscure, powerful but the costs and the risks for practicing it aren't worth taking for trivial matters like lighting a camp fire.

And mind you in FT, it's only that easy among the big guild mages.

When I said casual I meant that it's trite. When it's used to make life easier. I don't like that. Then again the last thing I recall of Fairy Tail was some monster incased in ice at some island under a full moon.

Also I'll note that the specific level of misery in medieval fantasy is really only present in a few of even the medieval fantasy ones, it's not exactly a universal norm. LotR, many of it's imitators, and most D&D worlds don't go in for that kind of thing.

It just boils down to that I prefer low fantasy over high fantasy.

Yea. Which is a pretty far distance from this type of shounen fight.

I'm not really a shōnen guy though. I like Bleach for its characters and the art style, and I like Naruto for the fluff. Besides, I've been with the series for so long now. On a scale of ten both would score a six to seven.

God...I hate weeks like this where all the chapters are just okay. Makes ranking them hard.

1. Naruto
2. Bleach
3. One Piece

Naruto and Bleach are really interchangeable. I just barely gave Naruto the edge because the subject was a big deal. It did have the more negative moments like Itachi and Kankuro so I could easily change my mind and switch in Bleach. Bleach had little happening but I'm still so grateful to see carnage and I do dig a lot of the new characters, even if it's all based on first impression from their character design.

One Piece...It was okay because Smoker and Tashigi were acknowledged. If it hadn't been for that, I wouldn't have liked it. Caesar and the Slime thing are just boring villains. The Straw Hats all seem pretty underwhelmed and to be honest so am I. Really hoping to be proven wrong next week.

This week sucks. I'd personally rank them:

1.Naruto
2.One Piece
3. Bleach

Bleach and One Piece are interchangeble since both kind of bored the crap out of me. Ceasar being only a slight improvement over Hody isn't saying much and I'm much more interested in Law's plan than anthing that's going on at this island.

Bleach had to once again use dramatic back attacks and excessively large panels to accomplish absolutely nothing. Kubo does get points for not having the weaklings actually standing a chance.

Naruto also pissed me off but it had Madara in it so it was cool.

I would've have also said that HSDK had a good chapter up until I saw this:

I love how you people always seem to prefer reading future arcs than current arcs, cheer up a bit 😂

Anyways, decent chapters all around, a bit too much exposition in Naruto, but still worked.

Likewise. Even Fairy Tail was just a wind-down following the previous one.

I guess this comes after such a good week last time.

Bleach and Naruto ties this week. The early deactivation was a letdown, and while I understand that in Bleach this was a pair-up chapter for future battles it seemed a bit rushed. Maybe because Rōjūrō's dragged out connection to Izuru seemed very cheesy.

And for killing a popular character, there was so little drama in it. It was just, up, dead (also I didn't recognize that as Rojuro at first).

Still, I too rate Bleach at the top of the pile this week.

Toriko proves once again why it is the best manga running

1. One Piece
2. Naruto.
3. The toilet paper I wiped my ass with.
4. Bleach.

Well I'm into the Martial arts tornament in Negima. It was cool seeing Tatsumiya fighting with coins and Takamicha draw blade punches were cool. Though I'm still patiently awaiting for Rakan....I got to see a picture of him at least.

The thing that made me love Negima's fights is- there's a lot of funs fights in the tournament, right?

Almost all of them are one chapter. The Takamichi fight was 4. There is just so much stuff happening per volume!

1. Naruto
2. Bleach
3. One Piece

OP was easily the most boring chapter this week. Only a brain-dead imbecile who lies about being a cute chubby girl with a big bouncing bosom would disagree.

Also yeah, Negima condenses a lot of action into a single panel/page/chapter/so on.

Takamichi is awesome.

While reading through Negima I still don't know why it's so bad being turned into an ermine. Personally I'd think the mage counsel would deliver more severe punishment like exile or something.

Oh and I never got why the author felt the need to show middle school girls nude: guess it a little late to be complaining about minor details like they though.

Well, think about what being a foot-and-a-half long mammal for several years does to your social life. A lot of jobs can't be done as an ermine too. Exile's not too bad- just work in a different country, but ermine's sort of an exile from your normal life without leaving.

And everyone will know it's *because* you messed up.

Well can't the mage counsel exile and take/seal magic powers? Besides as an ermine one could do ernime things like steal food and be perverted.

Yeah there is that issue too.

The punishment is presumably for non-mages too, thus 'sealing magic isn't enough if you want to be consist for everyone, and... well, Ermine-level mischief is not nearly the level as human level mischief.

Presumably that'd extend the punishment time too.
