Indeed. They would have probably done better if Pain was weakened, was holding back, and they still had prep.

Like who? I mean other than people that are already rated well above him anyways. pain was barely trying when he fought certain members of the village right up until shinra tensei. he didn't even put forth real effort until Naruto showed up. Pain also went as far as using that metoer-like attack to win. Wasn't really holding back too much imo.

Quite a few people imo. All the Kages (barring Tsunade), Sasuke, Danko, Tobi, Bee, Itachi, Kabuto, Madara, Konohamaru, the Kages that we saw resurrected, Minato, Jaraiya.

I'm probably forgetting a few but you get the point.

I haven't seen the databooks. I'll have to shop around for those. i think it pretty much is instant once it is finally directed.

Nah, at best, it is Mach 900, far from instantaneous. To most ninja though, it probably does appear to be instantaneous.

IDK, Naruto's bijuu dama is pretty damn fast and less telegraphed. By the time he created it, he was already shooting it to counteract with the other beast balls iirc. But on the whole, I agree. It has been shown to be somewhat slow in preparation for whatever reason.

It is definitely faster than other Bijuu-damas, but still telegraphed. Though I guess not moreso than Kirin.

It was brief, but he did end the third raikage in SM.
All those things you mentioned make him a very formidable opponent on a Kage level.

He didn't keep up with the Third Raikage in SM. He just dodged his attack and then took him out using his own attack.
Yes, but there are a high number of such people, like MS Sasuke.

If he fought the way he did against Kurama in SM, I think he would have faired better against Pain. It would have been a lot harder for Pain to kill the toads, with mass amounts of SM clones using big ball rasengans all over the place. This is what I meant by limited by Kurama. Naruto could not do these things against Pain because of Kurama draining iirc.

Meh, they could easily bunch up behind the Preta Path and use it to absorb all the Rasengans vin

Kurama wasn't draining him. Just interfering with the fusion.

Again with the Heroes reference?

Fffffffffffffffffffffffff!

Sasuke would have gotten shitstomped.
Don't know who Danko is.
Tobi (I said people who weren't already well above him).
Bee - Meh....I could see that just because of better fusion. (Note: we didn't really know much about him at that particular time)
Itachi - He's Itachi. Obviously well above everyone 😛
Kabuto - Which Kabuto? Pre ninja war kabuto gets destroyed easily
Madara - He's legendary, but okay
Konohamaru - Had enough trouble with one

If you two want to continue this in one of the Naruto threads, be my guest. Now it's time for an early comparison.

1. Bleach
2. One Piece
3. Naruto

Bleach had a really good moment and a nice enough cliffhanger. Sometimes simplicity is enough.

One Piece had a rather painful first act where quite honestly I just wanted to see the kids get killed. They're annoying. We find out CC is really the last Airbender which is cool I guess. And the end gave us a glimpse of an old friend.

Naruto didn't impress me. Orochimaru's return was just so...sudden. There was barely build up to it and the way it worked didn't make a lot of sense to me(what did Sasuke even do?). There is still quite a bit of build up for the future and I do enjoy the direction with Sasuke's character going through a philosophical phase...but other than that it just felt too fast and was boring to me.

Just my two cents.

Brownbeard was kind of awesome.

Naruto's chapter was a bit two wordy for my taste, lots of effort in making characters talk a lot without saying a whole lot of things. Oro's plot was kind of sudden too, but it's not as if Kishi wasn't making up stuff as he goes half of the time.

Nah. He wasn't. Brownbeard is just another example of characters not dying. Oda is awful for this.

Ironic cause in flashbacks Oda will straight up massacre an entire country of people without a care in the world. In the present time, I can only think of two people that have died(3 if you count Merry).

Personally I didn't want a character like BB to die, he has some background right now, and for a fodder New World baddie he at least proved to have some guts. Maybe he'll become an ally of the SHs later on, wouldn't it be interesting to see Luffy gain people power like Whitebeard used to have?

In any event, the most interesting thing about the One Piece chapter is the cameo at the end. That guy would make an excellent addition to Law and Luffy's alliance. And fitting giving he already has a history with one of the Yonko.

I'm starting to like Brownbeard.

I'm having trouble ranking 'em today. One Piece had the best action, but Bleach's actually wasn't bad either (those giants get mind controlled way too easily!). Naruto and Fairy Tail had pretty good reveals, especially Naruto, though it could've been done more dramatically.

I'd rank this week in the following and I'll borrow Q99's rating style for Fairy Tail too.

1. One Piece(suprising I know)
2. Bleach( also cool though I though for sure Akon got crushed at first)
3. Fairy Tail( It was pretty funny even though it was mostly set-up)
4. Naruto (The sudden Orochimaru revival didn't suit well for me..thought it would've had better build-up)

Question: Does Toriko ever get less ridiculous?

Depends on what part your on. And what you mean by ridiculous.

It ebbs and flows.

Naruto

Bleach
Compare and contrast the arcs below and tell me which wins(or rather, which you like the most I guess):

Rescue Rukia vs Sasuke Retrieval.

Went for a Naruto/Bleach contest since I think they're both more popular on here than One Piece. But for extra fun, you can throw in Water 7/Eneis Lobby(their the same freaking story anyway) if you want.

Hmm. Bleach's shining moment vs The time before wankchia...

Im gonna have to go with rukia. Introduction of kenpachi makes all things good.

Sasuke Retrieval arc was amazing. The writing was practically flawless.

Rescue Rukia arc was cool, but there was too much shenanigans in it for me to completely enjoy it, plus, Byakuya's motivations were a little lame for him to be the main antagonist.

I'll go with the SR Arc.
