Can Denzral with help from Soapy and maybe Andro, write some kind of program that once we have recovered the message does a sort of ping-test back along it's path, kinda like a return message- or akin to a message has not been delivered type signal, that we can send back to the satellite, that we can track, that once reaching the satellite will be routed back through the network from point to point to the sender informing sender that the message had not been received?

Try not to make the Senator too specific to the situation or he'll only be helpful sometimes. Give him a planet or sector he represents and maybe something he usually champions or promotes, or something he is against.

Just my thoughts.
