You turn the chair around... gah!
The form before you is horrific. Lennah is there, or a semblance of Lennah, half-slouched on the chair, mouth slightly open. His flesh is pale and almost withered; slack and lifeless. And yet this is not a dead body. It is warm.
Most significantly, the other half to you that you couldn't see is filled with tubes and electronics hooked directly into him. A life support system has been wired into both Lennah and the chair, securing him fastly to it. Five long, thick needles puncture into the other side of his face, which seems to droop below the other half.
Some of the tubes fed into Lennah also feed into the computer bank, where what appears to be an immensely complicated programme is running.
Is Essallin okay?
Jelena is disgusted by what she sees, but she is certain there is more to this than Lennah's corpse. She comes over to Lennah and Gallagher.
"How long has been hooked in?" Jelena asks Gallagher.
She is going to examine the needles penetrating the side of Lennah's face. She has a suspicion that they are pitted in his brain. She follows it back to his computer and tries to see what the complicated program is that is running on his screen.
Yeah, the Padawans seem to be holding up ok. They've all killed people, after all.
By the look of the connections and the way the skin fits around them, you'd say he'd been hooked up for a considerable amount of time.
Hmm, Jelena, you think those bits are just keeping his head nourished and so on. That's the hardest part of a body to preserve like this.
As for the programme... well. A forensic analysis of the system will take a while, though you've all forgotten your first principles and not looked at what's in front of you first.
