USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (LIGHT SIDE)- Missing Links

You put a hand on his shoulder, Wentar. Nothing...

Wentar frowns, there should have been a reaction. He nods grimly at Andro's suggestion and turns the chair around properly so he and the group can see who or what's sitting in it.

Gallagher feels tense, thinking how much of a delay Lennah's passing would put on their investigation, if Lennah is indeed no longer among the living. And yet he is not positive, not without examining Lennah thoroughly.

Maybe he's asleep, or sedated... Gallagher thinks.

You turn the chair around... gah!

The form before you is horrific. Lennah is there, or a semblance of Lennah, half-slouched on the chair, mouth slightly open. His flesh is pale and almost withered; slack and lifeless. And yet this is not a dead body. It is warm.

Most significantly, the other half to you that you couldn't see is filled with tubes and electronics hooked directly into him. A life support system has been wired into both Lennah and the chair, securing him fastly to it. Five long, thick needles puncture into the other side of his face, which seems to droop below the other half.

Some of the tubes fed into Lennah also feed into the computer bank, where what appears to be an immensely complicated programme is running.

Wentar recoils from the sight, clearly horrified. "By the Force," he whispers, stumbling back slightly. "Who would do something like this? Why?" That explains why he was so irregular to my Force senses.

-

This is bad... Does he even seem consciously aware of is surroundings?

Wentar, you aren't even sure anything is really alive in there.

(As a note, this set up was so freaky/gripping I've just stay up till 3:30 am just to see what was in that chair. Kudos Ush!)

-

In that case, Wentar's feeling sick to his stomach... There's no way he could have done this to himself right?

That would have been quite a feat.

Could a Medicine+Fix it roll help tell us what is going on?

Medicine + Intelligence.

Gallagher will give it a try, he is as good with Medicine as anyone.

Hmmm...

Well. You are pretty sure he is dead by any meaningful definition of the term. His is little more than a grotesquely preserved corpse.

What is he hooked into? Just stuff to support the body?

The life support machine and the computer system.

I just thought of something. How are the padawans handling this gruesome discovery? They're just kids right?

-

Wentar casts a concerned glance at the padawans, slightly worried at how they might react to this.

Yeah, Gallagher will check on D'an.

"He's wired in to life support and the computer," Gallagher says. "I...he's just a corpse, for all intensive purposes."

Is Essallin okay?

Jelena is disgusted by what she sees, but she is certain there is more to this than Lennah's corpse. She comes over to Lennah and Gallagher.

"How long has been hooked in?" Jelena asks Gallagher.

She is going to examine the needles penetrating the side of Lennah's face. She has a suspicion that they are pitted in his brain. She follows it back to his computer and tries to see what the complicated program is that is running on his screen.

Yeah, the Padawans seem to be holding up ok. They've all killed people, after all.

By the look of the connections and the way the skin fits around them, you'd say he'd been hooked up for a considerable amount of time.

Hmm, Jelena, you think those bits are just keeping his head nourished and so on. That's the hardest part of a body to preserve like this.

As for the programme... well. A forensic analysis of the system will take a while, though you've all forgotten your first principles and not looked at what's in front of you first.

What are we missing? We have a preserved Lennah wired into his computer, wearing headphones, with the computer blaring information.

One of those things is the relevant thing that no-one paid any attention to.
