"I'm still not even sure what's going on here, but that guy over there is my boss he can give you all the info you need." Xavier says.

Relle- no, you don't get a bonus on a Force roll just to use the power. The bonus assumes an easy Force roll aiding another skill; this is a much more nuanced use.

The last thing to decide, then, is the risk factor from Rand. How specific are you trying to get this? Red instead of black? One half of the wheel compared to another? At the far end... trying to nail one specific number.

-

Which guy are you point at, Xavier? Regardless, they still want to see your id, else they will throw you out.

And Galder's comm questions?

It takes you time to get to your ship, whilst the Rand situation is more immediate.

Rand will try to aim for a specific third of the wheel as well as for a specific color. He'll choose red.

I'll take that as just the third, as I don't think they accept number/colour combos. I'm unsure if they do thirds either, but I'll accept that.

I'm happy with all that then. Whenever Rand is ready to place his bet, Relle starts looking for the right moment to be distracting.

Well, what do you know? Relle rolls a whole bunch of successes and Rand has the clear moment he needs to make a subtle gesture and shape the ball's landing spot...

Rand wins! He's made five times his starting money, and very pleased he feels too.

Excellent! Did I make back what I lost originally?

Rand can step away from the table, now that he's satisfied his megalomaniacal urges, but in his moment of triumph he wants to scan the table for anyone that is truly frustrated or angry with him for winning.

Yes you did.

And not really- wins on roulette are part of the fun. if you'd won on a single number you may have annoyed the establishment a bit...

Of course, you were fully invested in making your play. Perhaps someone else should have been checking for how others are reacting to you.

Meanwhile, Galder tries Intelligence + Fix-It to work out what this network is.

Hmm, not quite your area... but the relays run through Hutt Space. This is not exactly an official transmission.

-

Rianna and Xavier- automatic negative consequences rapidly approaching! I'll need some sort of remedial action. Besides, I've got to give everyone else a turn.

How is Gallador's game going, won yet? Anyone among the losers seems extraordinary or worthy of his attention?

No time to help Xavier right now?

(I really need to get back into this game, I will try)

Well, Galder will try calling back through the same means, if he can.

Well, as Rianna is rather annoyed, she will indignantly protest.

"I'm just trying to return to my party! First I get a drink spilled on me and then he grabbed me as I tried leaving! I don't see why I need to spend my time dealing with this now when I simply want to clean up this mess I'm now wearing," she says. Not really lying there, either!

Xavier points to Gallador, "He's my boss and has all the information you want. I still don't even know what I've done wrong or why you're even asking me for this?"

Well, I just have Relle for now... but I can't make any tremendous wins without her distracting the table. Maybe Rand should take a break, or find another game to play that would free up Relle to observe players.

Azarl will try playing another round using the Force to predict whether or not the next card will ruin his chances of winning. He probably has no opportunity to slip a winning card up his sleeve because it's all automated and the missing card might be noticed, right?

Galder- you get a very long set of connections, and then a blinking 'Please Wait...' message.

-

They don't really understand what you mean by 'boss', Xavier. You're not in a company here, you are on a Republic world and they have you down as a troublemaker. So first, they are throwing you out, and second, they are calling the police unless you can give them some suitable id.

-

You and two others left, Gallador, and you are on the back foot. You don't know if it is luck or otherwise, but these guys are pros.

Pretty much anyone who stayed in after the first round had relatively sharp, or at least dedicated, minds. It's that sort of game.

You could help Xavier if you give in.

-

Not lying at all, Rianna, no! Of course, it is Persuasion to sound reasonable...

-

Rand- another big win would look suspicious. Not as bad as getting the precise number right twice in a row, perhaps, but do be aware of the risks.

What does occur to you, though, is that actually playing was the least efficient part for you. You could run that trick for anyone.

-

Azarl- it's actually very traditional, with the cards coming out of a jazzed-up card shoe; you aren't sure if the shoe counts the cards of it the croupier does. What is more likely to make cheating difficult is how closely all players are observed at all times.

Straight Force roll to see how you do- going for it?

I don't even necessarily need anyone with decent gambling skills, then?

Galder will tap his fingers impatiently on the desktop of his comm unit, waiting for the call to go through.

"Come on, whoever you are..." Galder mumbles.
