Well Avengers and MOS plots were quite simple. CA2 had a slightly more complex plot than your usual superhero movie. Not on the level of The Dark Knight though, but still you probably need to follow it to enjoy the movie.

Still I'm quite surprised people found it slow with all the great action sequences it had.

I can see why kids may be more fidgety watching WS, Its a smarter, more mature and more story driven movie than the likes of avengers or MOS.

Anyone that found Captain America: Winter Soldier "boring".....wow... I like comic book movies, but I LOVE intelligent comic book movies. Avengers was a spectacle. It had aliens and superheroes using powers....but even that movie was pretty slow. Honestly Cap 2 had better pacing. Think back to Avengers....most of the action came at the end in New York. There wasn't much fighting or action until that point. I honestly don't understand how anyone could watch Cap 2 and think it's "slow" or "boring".

Yah, the demographic I saw had mostly "older" people watching Cap 2... Not nearly as many children as other super hero movies...and honestly that's a good thing.

It saddens me that the term "plot-heavy" has become a thing. Movies are supposed to be the visual medium for story telling. Movies used to be made to tell a story, advance a plot. Nowadays, movies are made to show off cool special effects and images. Special effects/images and cool fight choreography should supplemennt a good story, not replace it.

Cap 2 and Dark Knight were awesome for the right reasons. MoS was "awesome" for the wrong reasons.

^ Hey, MOS had a decent plot. Not on the level of CAP 2 obviously, but still fairly decent.

Honestly I remember watching it for the first time being worried it was not going to be good up until Hulk showed up. That's when it became Epic for me, with the start of the Thor/Hulk fight.

I've noticed that too, Any form of drama involved usually get "it got boring in those moments"

Case in point ^ above me

I see what your saying, but when people go to superhero movies, they aren't expecting Citizen Kane. Its all about the action.

Cap 2 had some of the all time best action in comic movies IMO. I guess some people wanted more over the top, explosive action as opposed to grounded guns and hand to hand action. But again, Cap kind of had both brands of action.

I really appreciated the more realistic fighting in Cap, I think that was my major problem with the first Cap movie.

In that case go and watch a Micheal bay movie.

They blew up three helicarriers, destroyed an under ground base, had constant fight scenes, some of the best fight choreography, and a well written story. Some how it didn't live up to expectation? I would say go watch it again then. The problem isn't the movie; it's the expectation. A second viewing should really help. I thought Avengers was just good, not great. A second viewing changed that. Seen it more than 10 times now though.

^Well said. The problem isnt the movie its the expectation. The number 1 complaint I see about this movie is that it somehow didnt live up to the critical praise, yet I havent seen anybody post any real flaws with the movie, nor can I think of many at all.

My biggest problem was Crossbones not being big enough, but honestly that's a fanboy problem not a movie problem as he isn't even really crossbones

I have never been one to believe what critics say but this is the only the second instance(1st being The Dark Knight) in which critics and I agree.. over in the other Cap 2 thread, some people were nitpicking about why Winter Soldier just didn't shoot at his legs and some other sillyness..

Frank Grillo signed on for multiple films so you'll get your wish 🙂

Wow 😂 . Anyway, Cap was covering most of his whole body when WS was shooting at him at the start of their fight on the street and on the helicarrier, he WAS trying to shoot both his upper and lower body but Cap blocked the shots.

I have to admit tho, Frank Grillo is pretty small for the role *shrug*

Yeah, I need to see it again. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie. I just didn't think it was as good as everybody on here was hyping it up to be. From the reactions of other people in the theater, that appears to be the case. I'm sure i'll like it better with a few repeat views, but I doubt it will be one of my favorites.

yeah, I'm hoping for him to get recast. Disney doesn't lose anything and if they wish can use him in a different role later.

Yeah I think Grillo may have been a rare miscast. I didnt really see him as Rumlow at all.

I mean they could make him bigger digitally I guess, but Brock should dwarf Cap imho.
