Captain America 2

As other people have noted, Winter Soldier is BETTER the more times you watch it. I've seen it 5 times now.. I freakin love almost everything about this movie, from the pacing, acting, action and plot. It all gets better. I probably won't watch it again (as I've run out of people to go watch it with lol), but it's still a great movie, right up there with Avengers and IM1.

I mean they could make him bigger digitally I guess, but Brock should dwarf Cap imho.

Based on looks alone (forget acting for a second) I'd say someone like Brock Lesnar would fit the look of Rumlow from the comics to a tee.

I'm personally glad they didn't use Brock Lesner for Cap 2...lol.

But yah, I agree Frank Grillo (great acting in WS) is a bit small for Crossbones. But maybe they'll "Super Soldier" or augment him up or something. Who knows, all I know is I thought he did a great job acting in the movie and I'm gonna give him a shot to pull it off if they stick with him. They could also pull some Dark Knight Rises stuff with camera angles (Tom Hardy is shorter than Christian Bale).

Well they did burn him up, recasting can easily be done, I'd like Frank to bleach his hair and play Quartermain or even keep him Masked & play Zemo.

I never said they should have used him lol, I actually said "forget acting for a second."

Yah, I know. I'm just glad we don't see too many wrestlers in Marvel films (though Bautista might be ok).

I don't mind his size. His acting though is the most important thing. Hardy wasn't Bane big either, but his acting made the his role memorable. If this was Juggeranut then I would have a problem. Last Stand's Juggernaut was plain horrible in acting and physique.

Thanks man 🙂

So Cap 2 has just managed to pass Man Of Steel's worldwide gross this weekend.

So Cap is now officially as popular around the world as Superman and Thor - and based on numbers, apparently more so than Wolverine and the X-Men. 😄

Careful there, roughrider. That may upset some of the DCers around here.

The figures show he's actually more popular than Thor and Superman.

The X-Men have never been in league with the heavy hitters of the big screen. I still blame their Wolverine Wanking formula. But we'll see what happens later this month with DOFP.

Well, the first Thor movie earned somewhat more than the first Cap movie, both have become even more popular thanks to Avengers, so I think it's trade off. I would have said Thor was the second most popular Avenger, but now I think it's a dead heat between him and Steve.

The X-Men and Wolverine movies have done really big business, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is hitting numbers they never reached, even after six films. We'll see if Days Of Future Past is the step up they need.

Well to be honest this movie was just as much about SHIELD and Black Widow than Cap....

I think people are sick of "team" movies with only one capable person, I mean minus the dumb character decisions First class was amazing not because Magneto had to ruin every other character around him but because they were just as important.

Cap is just as bankable in theaters as Superman and Thor. I'm not sure he's as recognizable or as popular though. I think Superman, Batman, and Spiderman are still more recognizable by the world population, but recognizeability (or even popularity) doesn't mean box office success. I'm sure Barbie is more recognizable and popular than Captain America. That does not mean people want to see a movie about Barbie.

The X-Men have the potential. Before the Avengers movies, most people knew who the X-Men were due to the 90s cartoon and X-Men evolution. The problem with X-Men 1-3 was that they were all really boring. The plots were dumb and the fight scenes sucked. Magneto was toned down compared to the cartoons, there was no Apocalypse, and no Sentinels. Had Marvel been in charge, the X-Men would be making Avenger's dollars at this point. The Sentinels would be in either the first or second movie, instead of 7th installment of the franchise. Marvel draws inspiring from multiple story lines to make a film. Fox just make stuff up, except for Days of Future Past and the upcoming Age of Apocalypse. Fox has finally learned. tsk tsk.

Exactly my thoughts on the subject.

Plus on top of the issues you raised I think it was stupid to focus all the team movies (prior to First Class) on just Wolverine.
