The Force Unleashed novel is canon though. There was also a reference to an ancient Sith Lord (Tulak Hord) being able to pull starships out of orbit, and of course Darth Nihilus was able to move his entire fleet and hold it together with TK.
Not sure where the continent level thing comes from, a reference I saw was referring to a feat of moving the super star destroyer Lusankya but I haven't actually seen the calc for that so I wouldn't accept it until I did.
For FTL reflexes, TWF likes to quote a passage from a book that involves an inexperienced Jedi training with a droid, and the droid fires some kind of laser bolt at him, which he deflects with his lightsaber. The droid then explains that the bolt moved at the speed of light, and he automatically deflected it with his Force-enhanced reflexes. However the passage in question also uses the word "anticipatory", which I take to mean he used precog to anticipate the attack in advance, and thus set up the lightsaber to block it a split second before it was fired, so I don't really buy the FTL reflexes claim here.
Another popular claim used to justify this is that Jedi can fly starfighters and dogfight with enemies at very close to the speed of light, but normal non-Force user pilots can do that too, so I think that has more to do with the computers of the fighters than their actual reflexes.
There was a passage in the ROTS novel where Obi-Wan had to move his lightsaber so fast it created a solid dome around him to deflect blaster bolts from 10000 droids at once or something, using the minimum speeds they came up with a calc of him having to move his arms at mach 5000 or some crazy speed like that, but that's again nowhere near lightspeed.
I've also been skeptical of the "teleport someone's head/heart/brain out of their bodies" or "teleport his activated lightsaber inside their skull" argument, as I've never seen it used that way. Abeloth, a villain with the Fold Space ability was apparently able to use it to teleport herself, but never offensively in this manner. The supporters of this argument basically rely on the following line of logic:
- Luke can teleport objects at will from a distance (demonstrated)
- A person's vital organs are not any more massive or large than the things he has teleported
- Therefore from the same distance he can teleport their organs out of their bodies
- The reason he hasn't done this in combat is because using his powers that way would lead him to the Dark Side, but in a vs. match anything goes so he can
Again, not saying I buy that, but that seems to be their argument
Thanks for the info then Mike. At this point I'm quite done with this conversation though. If someone wants to provide some concrete evidence and actually claim he's beyond the cap, that's the only way I'm diving back in. Because we have something like 5 endorsements to 0 against for Luke at high meta, and the only possible hiccups seem to be wrapped in stipulations, mitigating context, exaggeration, or outright fabrications.
Working on some posts now. They'll be up this evening.
For the record, I've posted what I consider to be my best feat of Luke's TK (the tornado thing). Or rather, I have 1-2 others that compete, and are maybe better, but nothing far beyond it. So, judges, leo, there's no Star Destroyer Fleet TK in his arsenal, or anything similarly absurd.
I haven't posted much tp, but his "best" is similarly tame compared to anything that would disqualify him. The galactic conference call (w/week of meditation) mentioned earlier is probably his best there.

i've been working on my posts on and off today. i know you think you landed a haymaker there, but i'll see if i can find a way to drag myself off the mat. boxing

hey digi, i have another post started. it might be helpful if you waited until i post the next part before replying. just to keep things in an easier to follow order. if you really want to have at that post, go ahead, but that will just leave me more to rebut, if you get what i'm saying. i will do my best to have the post up tomorrow.

It's not.
I don't count opening strats/posts towards your post count.
And since real life often comes up in these, I'm going to be somewhat lax on enforcing post and time limits, so if anything comes up on either party's end, it should be fine.
But tentatively, yes, the 8th should be the final day.
