Fantastic Four (2015)

I'm just gonna leave all my reasons why I feel this will be this decade's "Catwoman" right here.

Here are a few "gems" of information from the people involved with this film:

Kate Mara told not to read any F4 comics because it has nothing to do with their storylines:

“I’ve never been a fan of comics, I’ve never actually read one,” Mara told Esquire Mexico. “I was going to for this movie but the director said it wasn’t necessary. Well, actually he told us that we shouldn’t do it because the plot won’t be based on any history of anything already published. So I chose to follow his instructions.

Michael B. Jordan says they're not superheroes, more like disabled kids:
It’s not your typical superhero film, you know, we aren’t looking at this as like, being superheroes. We’re more or less a bunch of kids that had an accident and we have disabilities now that we have to cope with, and try to find a life afterwards – try to be as normal as we can.

It's going to be found footage:

The Fantastic Four, the original celebrity heroes, will not be celebrities in this film, and they won't even be called the Fantastic Four:

Add to these the horrible miscasting of everyone, especially a 12 year old looking Reed Richards and scrawny Ben Grimm, and we have not a faithful adaptation of a beloved comic, nor do we even have a fresh spin on an existing concept. We have a desperate, low budget rights grab to keep Disney from cashing in on what Fox considers their toy, even though they refuse to play with it correctly.
Great to see this getting a reboot because the first one was crap, and the second one was abysmal.
Look more like the Fighting Four.

I'd rather go watch the other movies even with their flaws.

Why?

They're better then what we're getting with this attempt.

I didn't mind the FF films, although when rewatching them I did note an overabundance of cheese factor in the first film, which, while not B&R level, did hinder the films somewhat. The second film rectifies this a lot. I liked the design of Cloud Galactus, and the Surfer threat was well done. I even liked McMahon's Doom, even if it wasn't as grandiose as the comic version. Despite it's flaws, I for the most part enjoyed them.

IDK about this new film. Seems with all these changes they should've just released this as it's own original film. I'll still give it a chance.

First one I found OK.

The only good thing about the second one was the Silver Surfer Imo.

Everything else was terrible.

Why are you trying to be optimistic about this new one?

Lol I forgot we want it to fail.

Guys at AMC Movie Talk think this movie is gonna be great:

^ It's the first thing they talk about.

IMO It's obviously not going to be a faithful to the comic flick, but it probably will be a good sci-fi movie given the director, screen writers and cast. So I think the chances of it failing and reverting to Marvel is pretty slim guys.

I'd say it's chances of failure are pretty high. It's been making Fantastic Four fans hate it more with every new announcement, the general audience still has a bad taste in their mouth for the F4 because of the first two, and Josh Trank isn't exactly well known. Most people don't even know that Chronicle exists a mere two years after its release. Not to mention the found footage angle that a lot of people can't stand...

This turd is gonna crash and burn.

remember when everybody said that street fighter: legend of chun-li would be better that van damme's? yeah..

Well we'll see. I mean if your right you should be happy as the rights will revert back to Marvel.

It's been 7 yeasts since the last FF. Will be 8 years when this is released. That's long enough for people to give it another chance ( MOS and Batman Begins both waited 7-8 years for the stench of the last failure to die down a bit)..

So I personally think if it's even a half decent movie it can probably pass $300mill WW(given 3d ticket sales and in an age where good comic book movies are selling like mad) in which case it's staying with Fox (assumimg the budget is around $150mill).

It'll definitely get a big boost from Avengers 2. In a sense, Marvel is dooming itself.

lol

If they named this movie Chronicle 2, or something else (unrealated to FF) i would MAYBE give it a chance.
The fact that they are naming it Fantastic Four just to keep the rights, even though it has little to do with the source material is absolutely disgusting and I hope i bombs and burns in the pits of hell.

Unfortunately us fans are a small minority so us getting insulted by it won't make a difference. They will keep the rights for that potential X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover.

Lol Unfortunately Golgo's mentor is still talking.

They should probably go the Ultimate route and make them all younger. That would be a better way to hook the younger fans.

**** that we don't need any more teenie bopper movies out there. Besides that's something D.C. would do marvel trys to appeal to all which is what makes marvel great.
