John McClane vs. Jaws

Shooting a 9mm pistol into the ocean whilst the shark is rising directly at him won't take any effect until within 8 ft.
And by then McClane is shooting into teeth.

There was a MythBusters episode on it.

LoL, you think McClane is going to panic from a shark closing in? The man casually stares down super-terrorist, explosives and F-35 Lightning II's all before lunch-time.

8 feet, even better for McClane, his aim is great at a 100 feet, at just 8 he could easily put several bullets in Jaw's eye thereby killing it instantly and then it'd just be a dead shark bumping into McClane.

Outcome of your scenario: McClane enjoys a couple shark-steaks with his beer and whiskey chaser.

Well how did their test go that involved shooting that shark in the eyes from 6ft away, gutting it with a Khyber knife, then pulling half of Robert Shaw out of it's digestive tract and slapping the now dead shark in the face with said remains go?

Jaws is gonna need a bigger boat.

Hahahaha

A 9mm's bullets aren't going to travel through water at any signifigant velocity to kill a mother****ing great white, let alone one as big as Jaws, and frankly it probably would barely do shit even out of water.

McClane gets eaten, followed by his ballsack polishers in this thread.

A bullet can kill you under water, the water lessons the effective range, not how lethal it is.

Please, Jaws gets taken out by common men, you think someone like McClane armed with a gun is going to get eaten here. Haters gonna hate.

Don't be calling us haters just cause your boy McClane gone and got himself eaten.

And distance per feet underwater does effect the lethality.

Not by a shark, pal.

No, bullets are still lethal underwater (ie they can kill you), the water lessons the effective range. You even claimed "8 feet", which is plenty of distance for McClane to drop two bullets in Jaw's skull.

<--- Mclane's dinner that night

Followed by dessert --->

Lolwut.

Why do you think the bullet stops? Do you think Poseidon, god of the sea, commands the bullet to stop which then complies?

No mother****er, it slows the hell down, and it being able to kill a relatively frail human underwater doesn't equate to killing a huge great white that it probably couldn't kill while underwater.

Yes, he is gonna get eaten here. Also Jaws is a better movie than Die Hard.

Resistance. That has nothing to do with bullets magically not being lethal underwater, as you seem to think.

Jaws has died several times in the films, pal. A bullet to the brain from "8 feet" (as shown to be effective by Myth Busters) is killing it.

No, he's eating shark-steaks. That's just the ghey in you talking.

Jaws eats him.

Is McClane still bleeding from the crash and eating of the first part of the meal?

He always has nicks and cuts all over the place, or like in DH1, bleeding feet. How else is he supposed to rise above all, terrorist's plot or physical pain, to save the day?

With Jaws, all that blood is going to be a lot more dangerous.

If anything, Jaws (Who moves very slowly and rubberly even in bloodlust mode) is gonna have to close on McClane, and get past Khyber knifeage and of course, those bullets.
And that shark's luck is definitely not up to McClanian standards.
Leading to disaster for Mr.Fishy.

And if McClane has his DH1 screen feats attributes, (Including Mcclane's patented 'infinite-bleeding-with-no-death' technique), then Jaws gets C4'd.

Either way, Jaws will be very afraid to go into the water (after being blown from it) after this encounter.

Would a submerged pistol even work underwater after the first 2 or 3 shots??

Aiming down. Water messes guns up.

Watched all the Die Hard movies with my boys last night.

Yea, Jaws is fuuuuuuuck*d here. I pity anyone who goes up against McClane.

Good point.

McClane's bleed in every film, it's just what he does, so it's safe to say he'd be bleeding here after a boat explosion.

All that blood is going to be a lot more dangerous for Jaws, sharks have a heightened sense of smell for 'blood in the water', so with McClane's high blood-alcohol content Jaws is going to be severely affected by it, dizzy, loss of coordination, confusion and a possible sense of euphoria and/or depression.

Mcclane waits for his moment and then sends jaws to the bottom of the ocean

McClane eats Jaws.

No. A 9mm isn't doing jack poop to Jaws. Remember when Quint was shooting it in the head and Dreyfuss was like "don't waste your time?" He's an expert on sharks and their anatomy, and he knows bullets will not kill Jaws.

Myth busters? Wait, you're applying a reality show to a movie? Can't do that. What is shown in the movies, according to the rules here, matters most.

Jaws>>>>>>>>Bullets.

Jaws opens his mouth to eat McClane.

McClane swims inside Jaws, then eats him from the inside out.

Fact.

Incorrect. A bullet to Jaws' brain will kill it.

Not me, some other people cried and tried to use real-world physics, if they don't count, then McClane shoots Jaws dead far easier via movie-land physics.

McClane >>>>>>> F35 Lightning II.

F35 Lightning II >>>>>>> Jaws

So real life science/ballistics trump what is said/seen in the movies?
