Flash is also significantly faster than Gladiator and has a plethora of abilities outside of just sheer speed.
Further more, we've seen how an in-character Gladiator "blitzes". It's typically in a straight line, charging and barreling over his foes with his strength.
And there's also the fact that we've seen Thor deal with Gladiator and if Gladiator was "nerfed" by the writers, then Christ Almighty, Thor was ridiculously handicapped.

Not sure how it's Masterson's fault that Gladiator didn't take him seriously. Or how Masterson nearly killing Gladiator upon snapping somehow doesn't count. If they had a rematch devoid of plot device and the script, Masterson would pummel him into oblivion again.
I also see no rebuttal for Future! Gladiator literally having everything in his favor prior to attacking Thor and still losing and going on to admit "He's too strong!" when he returns to his timeline.
Making excuses for Gladiator's very telling losses to Thor is one thing. Claiming he'd somehow beat Thor in a forum fight is something else entirely. It's basically the same as saying "Well, Gladiator lost pretty soundly to Thor, and even though Thor has a far greater and expansive set of feats and victories over characters in and above Gladiator's league, I still think Gladiator should win anyway. Why? Well...because."

Gladiator's powerset and inspiration comes from Superman, but Superman is literally better in every aspect you can think of.
