Darth Nihilus and Darth Traya - vs - DE Sidious and DE Luke

Nephthys
Sion was the one punching the shit out of her. Nihilus just pushed her once and then stood there twiddling his ghostly thumbs.

You said he wasn't in danger. Then you say he doesn't want to risk a fight when he can neutralize her outright. Do you see a mild discrepancy?

Nephthys
I really don't see what you hope to gain through this line of reasoning. What is even your point here?

My greater point will reveal itself soon if it hasn't already. I already told you, though.

No I didn't. I said that he drained her because its more convenient. Reading comprehension ftw!

Well then tell me again. Otherwise I'm done indulging your pointless questions.

You're no fun when you're mad.

Being an obstinate contrarian today was fun, it actually generated a good discussion.
Spoiler:
The quoted segment constitutes my greater point, btw.

Oh, yeah you said you were bored. My bad.

I'm in my lazy season. I have laundry to do, dishes to wash, stuff to write, stuff to read, fat to lose, among other things and this brings me the most joy. 😬

Reading this has been amusing. Thank you.

^ Reminds me of the reaction I received when I wrote my first love letter.

That's a little sad. Funny, but sad.

^ Reminds me of the first time I saw Neph without his pants.

That's just funny.

^ I got nothin

You said that painting a sad clown face on my crotch was a stupid idea, but it was totally worth it for that reaction.

You do a valiant job defending Palpatine.

Kind of how Rampant_Ox does with Count Dooku. 🙂

That was a great save. I wish I knew how to work .gifs so I could post that one from Citizen Kane with the clapping man.

They're exactly like images. Just [img].

So then clearly Nihilus's powers weren't the only thing at play affecting the ship, yes?

Sure, I guess explosives affected the ship too.

Are you sure you have a point?

I admire your lack of shame.

Why thank you.

I never claimed that you did. 😂
You're still losing the game, son. 😬

No, you did not, but that wasn't really the point I was making, what I originally came here to do was to get people to cut the shameless downplaying of Nihilus, which sadly still hasn't happened. The only point which I explicitly compared Sidious and Nihilus on was telekinesis. Which is clear from my text. You, on the other hand, responded and argued against what I said, which carries the implication that you are arguing that Sidious is indeed stronger telekinetically. What you could have done is started off your response with "While I am not saying that Sidious is telekinetically more powerful than Nihilus" or whatever, but you chose to "deceive" me into bringing me into a debate you apparently did not believe.

Which only serves to make you look disingenuous, petty, and shows your lack of a real argument.

No. I don't have to endorse any particular side in order to contribute to the thread, in order to scrutinize your argument, and in order to question your sources. This is the critical mistake you made and I am pleased to contribute my infinite wisdom to your progression as a debater.

Read above. I honestly have my doubts that team 1 can win due to Traya being IMO easily the weakest character here, but when I make a statement regarding comparing the characters, you should make the distinction that while you are not arguing against my conclusion (aka Nihilus is telekinetically more powerful than Sidious), you are instead arguing against the details within my argument (Aka TKing the fleet, holding the Ravager together, etc.).

And please. It is plain for all to see that I am much, much smarter than both you and everyone who has ever posted on KMC, likely put together.

Doesn't Vader hurl objects across the room in TESB without hand movements? Can't remember, it's been so long since I've watched it.

Perhaps, I can't recall. Another example of Vader's gestureless telekinesis is the ending of RotS, but IMO that doesn't count as "effortless" because of how enraged he was.

Regardless, Nihilus also has sort of been apparently doing this for years, since by Mandalore's own words the ship should have fallen apart years ago. If it required any signifigant effort on his part, I doubt he would have maintained it for so long.

Again, I don't need to provide any evidence that Nihilus was expending effort. I'm simply questioning, my son.

What leads you to question that it took little to no effort?

Pretty sudden change for one who regarded the Exile and company as grains on a beach compared to the infinite power that is Darth Nihilus. Are you sure he can be considered terribly rational?

It's called bravery. Tobin found some through the Exile persuading him that, even if they die trying, Nihilus will eventually kill them if they don't resist as well.

I'm using it to question and needle, my son, not disprove.

Okay, to reword, how does the "nitpick" or "discredit" grab you?

Your attempts at harming my argument's credibility are frankly impotent.

Great point, wasn't it? Enormously clever, remember.

Your only particularly good point.

We're already questioning Tobin's credibility. Why continue to use him?

No, you're already questioning it, and what he said is supported by Mandalore as well, and not discredited by Visas, who knows Nihilus better than anyone.

Well this was fun. I probably won't be replying as often from now on.

Also: I've never read Dark Empire. 🙂

You conceded that Nihilus was "the only thing" holding the ship together. It stands to reason then, that with his death, it should have destroyed itself.

This is a weak line of argument, dude. I realize you're too clever to actually assert that it should have fallen apart, so let me just explain why it didn't: inertia. Without some outside force acting on the ship, it would have remained adrift. In ME2, you walk across the damaged bridge of the Normandy and run into some floating debris. Without some outside force, that debris would have floated with the Normandy for all time. The Ravager is like that.

Guess what qualifies as an outside force: acceleration due to the engines. N.'s "held together" feat is that the critically damaged ship didn't tear itself apart.

His most impressive feat is lifting that ship out of the gravity well while countering the shear forces that would have torn it apart. He is simply the best telekinetic there is.

I already covered that actually.
