In SW there is concept of empowering things, so they can keep going on their own.
In Lumya's hiding asteroid were illusions that could even fight and harm. And they weren't channeled by someone, they were created ones and sustained by darkside nexus.
Lord Nyax with use of Nexus created massive Force vortex, which continued even after his death.
There are a lot of artefacts that could manipulate Force themselves.
Same with Nihilus, he empowered ship, so it could hold itself together, while he was busy with other things.
Assumption that he was spreading his effort to hold ship together and fully engage in combat simultaniously is illogical. Force users cannot multitask to such extend. If it was his pure TK holding ship together, why not redirect his effort for a few seconds to crash exile into smear? But even The Ones and Abeloth do not have such feats.
This is magical aspect of the Force, empowering an object, so it could do things on its own, like a ship keeping itself together.

This conflicts with what the games tells us and is pretty much baseless speculation.

He did bring up one point though. If he is so powerful, why did he not kill them with TK? Or why not just speed blitz? I don't think he is capable of doing so. Holding a ship together while feeding off the life of people to empower yourself (as that is what he is doing. Feeding gives him power, he is feeding off the whole crew of the ship. Ergo, he is more powerful on the Ravager than elsewhere) is not as impressive as just holding one together.
