Went to "Oz the Great and Powerful" tonight and saw the trailer.

Several audible sounds of dislike.

Like OZ is any better.

Trust me. IM3 is an evolution of the character people weren't expecting.

The film is much smarter than the usual crowds are used to. But in time it will be regarded as a down to earth advancement in the series.

What it lacks in cheese it makes up in substence.

To be fair that was always going to happen (unless the movie was absolutely terrible).

But I'm curious to see how MOS will compare.

anyone who doubted that the movie would be a financial success is a moron.

not sure, but i think Man of Steel's story will be good enough for the film to make around $400 million worldwide which should be enough for them to greenlight MOS 2 and the finally the Justice League film

I was surprised to find out that the film is drastically different from the comic version.

IM will beat MOS because of everything it has going for it. The boost from the Avengers, possibly the final solo IM movie. IM being the most popular Avenger by far e.t.c.

But I'm betting MOS outperforms IM1.

Besides WB/DC have already proven they have the biggest solo superhero franchise with Batman.

Yeah I get the feeling also that this will be the last of the Iron Man solo series.
3 was better than 2 but the action in 3 felt repetitious throughout the the movie.

Stark became the reluctant, even un-needed hero in the end & would work better in a group (Avengers) than on his own.

That would actually be a legitimately awesome direction to go in for DC. Screw trying to top the Dark Knight Trilogy, just jump to Batman Beyond.

prior to Batman Begins there was talk that WB was going to a live action Batman Beyond film with Clint Eastwood as Bruce Wayne and Freddie Prinze, jr as Terry McGuinness/Batman

but yeah if they do a Batman Beyond film , that would be totally awesome
