They actually did that with Watchmen. Not sure why it wasn't a box office success.
Then Green Lantern's failure just seems to have put them off completely.

I'm pretty excited, just because of the names attached or possibly attached. For one, the script is already getting positive buzz and if they lock up a solid director, this could be very well done.
Man of Steel looks really good and it will probably set the tone for the JLA movie.
I'm not sure if Ben Affleck totally turned it down, but I hope he didn't. Argo is already getting Best Picture for Oscars and I think he would do a good job.
Same with the Wachowski Bro's, who's newest project, Cloud Atlas is getting some good reviews and might also be nominated for best picture.

I hope so. I would love to see a well done JL movie. But would hate to see a bad one.
