There is only one problem with The Man of Steel that I've seen so far. Clark shaves off his manly beard before become Superman.

What's with this anti beard agenda WB? 😠

HA! I knew you would say that. Once I saw his beard in the beginning, I thought of you. 😱

Manly man:

Possible woman? I can't tell, it has no beard like a lady:

Don't be a slave to the anti beard media prep-man, they are controlled by the Gillette Shave Gel-inati.

Haha, I found this funny. Jonathan Nolan on Batman.

Nolan wrapped the interview by discussing “Justice League” and how Batman would function as part of a super team.
“I’m incredibly excited. I was a big Batman fan when I was a kid. In fact he was the only comic-book character I really liked. I went through a brief spell where I was reading Captain Britain, because I was an English kid living in the States, and Wolverine for 30 seconds, Spider-Man too, but really Batman was the one. And I love that there are different versions of the character. I love that in the context of The Justice League, he’s kind of the black sheep of that family.”

“Justice League” is scheduled to begin production sometime in 2013 for a 2015 release. Will Beall wrote the screenplay. No director has been assigned at this time.

You think so? I didn't care too much for the creative team behind GL at all. It DID look good from the trailers, but I felt it wasn't enough. And from all the boards I went on to, most people actually thought it looked quite laughable, but they didn't really know GL.

Not so for the Man of Steel. Pretty much all the reactions I have seen have been positive. Even Superman haters have been digging it.

You didn't think Martin Campbell (Goldeneye, Casino Royale), Ryan Reynolds and Mark Strong weren't enough to make you optimistic?

Man of Steel has to be good. Literally. DC can't afford another **** up.

Nope. Just because you have a few good names attached, doesn't make a good movie. Even the trailer looked average. Man of Steel? Looks awesome. Night and day.

The trailer was disappointing, I'll grant you that. I was talking more about the names, though, before a trailer was even shown.

And there's still a lot we don't know about MOS.

I was actually pretty excited by the GL Trailer. Although the hints of some cheesy dialogue were there.

And looking at the production budget it's clear WB thought it was some guaranteed hit.

But I'm sure MOS won't suffer the same fate. Just too many really big names involved and one exciting trailer. So I'm sure it'll be a hit.

But I'm not convinced MOS can lead a JL movie alone.

I don't really like Ryan Reynolds, so there goes that. I respect Martin Campbell, but he's not one of my favs.

I don't want to know too much about MOS, I want to be surprised when I go see it.

When I first heard Nolan was attached to this movie, I actually face-palmed. Then I heard about Goyer's inclusion, and that only made me worry more, especially when reports started to come out about how they were trying to "modernise" Superman; something which isn't neccessary because it's already been done.

I didn't know how happy I was going to be until Snyder came on board, and I started to worry a little less. Why? Because, while Snyder has his detractors, the man has always been able to handle action sequences and CGI work with decent proficiency, so why bring him on board? Action, that's why.

I'm still worried about Man of Steel, to be honest. The trailer looks nice, but after the way DC has used the Superman license these last few years (in the comics pre-reboot, in most of the animated movies and of course, the emo Superman in returns), I can't do any more than be cautiously optimistic.

I want it to be good. I just can't commit to being overly enthusiastic about it yet.

I think the only thing Nolan did was recommend a script. That's it, right?

I was worried when Snyder was attached (Not a big fan, but I love the Watchmen and Dawn of the Dead). But seeing as he's not writing it and hired for his visual affects, I can say this movie looks awesome.

My friends hate Superman, but when I showed them the trailer, they loved it.

I think Michael Shannon will be a game changer, just like Heath Ledger was for the Dark Knight.

Nolan is credited with being one of the writers.

Shannon is a quality actor; I'm sure he'll be a good Zod. In fact, most of the cast looks pretty solid, to be honest.

I'm excited about the combination of Nolan and Snyder. I think the latter will give us the kind of direction and action sequences we want, whilst Nolan will contribute to what will hopefully be an epic story.

Yes the cast is impressive. I don't see any issues there.

I'm hoping that Snyder's sensibilities won't let Goyer and Nolan go too far in weakening Superman. And in return, they'll keep Snyder reigned in so that he has quality material to work with.

👆

Let's hope this is not just good but Epic! I won't be satisfied with just a "good" film here.

Where are you guys getting that Nolan/Snyder will weaken Superman? Was this in an interview?

There was a report a while back that Goyer was looking to use John Byrne's interpretation of Superman to "modernise" the character. Which of course is retarded, seeing as John Byrne's era was in the 80s.

So by "modernising" he obviously meant "weakening".

Add that to what Nolan did with Batman, and I think there's a genuine cause to be worried about them trying to make Superman too "realistic".

He can break the sound barrier. He's not that realistic. Also, he can survive in space and he seems pretty strong in the trailer.

Besides, this looks like a relative young clark. I'm not going to expect him to move a planet or anything.

I don't recall the trailer saying much about his strength. He ripped the door off of a bus, but that's not exactly a world-beating feat.

I'm not asking that he move planets. I just don't want him getting hurt by high-caliber ammunition either.
