he makes a poor barry allen, but will wait to see if he is actually casted

I'd want him as a Wally West, IMO.

As long as they don't play Wally West as the comic relief, I'll be happy, even if it's unlikely that we'll see him due to DC pushing Barry.

If Green Lantern gets a sequel, I'd love to see them introduce John and Guy (along with the established Hal). And Idris Elba is the only man I want to see as John:

Those are cool designs for the costume to use on the big screen.

But I don't think there will be a GL sequel. We probably won't see him again until a JL movie.

But yeah would be cool to see John.

I back this except for the costume design. The CGI costume was ugly and likely expensive. They need to lower production cost and use an actual costume. I don't care for his costume to glow because what really matters are his constructs. A GL's construct should wow audience the way Iron Man does when he first appeared on the big screen. Every IM puts on his armor or uses the mini gadgets on him, it's just interesting and fun.

Well Green Lantern's costume is part of his ring anyway, From what green lantern secret origin showed.

i thought the constructs in the movie looked fine cgi wise, personally.

Well yeah it would look stupid if the ring made a normal tailor made costume Imo.

Yep. Special effects wasn't the problem with that movie. As we'd expect with such a big budget.

But I think it think the way he was using his powers was kind of cheesy- Race cars, machine guns and flame throwers.

I think for movie purposes it would be better if he just used it to create different shapes and sizes kind of like the way the Invisible Woman uses her force fields.

But making any weapon he likes does come across a bit cartoonish on the big screen.

Besides when he can shoot powerful herald level energy blasts I don't really see the need for guns and flame throwers.

Well yeah, even Hal in the comics, while simplistic, isn't cartoony or cheesy.

His contructs were a sword, brick wall, roller coaster, machine gun, catapult, and jets. Was silly seeing him create swords to fight Sinestro and a catapult against Parallax. No giant robot, bulldozer, tank, barrage of missiles, etc. The lack of creativity left a lot to be desired especially from a superhero who can create anything at will.

Agreed. Hal is the least imaginative of the four main Lanterns, and compared to the movies, he's frickin Picasso.

i was watching this on directv last night and ryan reynolds sucked ass as hal jordan.. i kept thinking armie hammer would do a better job.. when i see reynolds, i keep thinking comedy..

yea Hammer certainly could do a much better job.. I hope WB has him in mind when they eventually start to cast the Justice League film

A nice Comicvine article about why WB shouldn't start with the solo movies.

interesting read

I somewhat agree with the article.

They only require mega success solo films for Superman and Batman Imho.

Then those 2 can lead the way to a JL movie where we have other characters introduced. (They don't have to have 7 JL members for the first movie.)

And isn't that how they introduces the JL cartoon anyway?

After the failure of the GL movie it could take many many years before WB have the right formula to make a success out of solo movies for the less well known characters.

If they're willing to wait that long to do JL, then fair enough. Marvel's already a decade ahead of them.

But if MOS is a huge success then I personally don't see the need to wait too long for JL. I mean who wouldn't want to watch Supes and Bats together leading a team of superheros?
