DC's Shared universe will start with...

It really depends on their strategy, TBH. We don't know what their stratgegy will be, so we can't say if it will work or not. I think the best bet is to have one epic story (Darkseid related) and have it run on a trilogy, not just one big 3 hour movie crammed in, which won't really work, IMO.

My point wasn't whatever strategy they use is doomed to fail. My point was I don't like people saying that JLA shouldn't do what the Avengers simply cause they don't want them to copy Marvel.

I don't know taking on Darkseid might be biting off more than they can chew.

You've got to introduce the JLA, Darkseid, DC Earth, and Apokolips and the New Gods. That's a potentially large cast of first time on screen characters to juggle.

according to latino review through batman on film 3 hours might not be enough time to satiate the characters time

"heath ledger voice" WHY SO SERIOUS???

calm down a wee bit there.. the only cast announcement has only been regarding cavill returning, that is it.. this JLA film is being propped up to be big and yet no other casting is being down.. Actually I do work for WB, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.. think about it instead of "al bundying" for a mere moment for each and every film casting is done and rumors abound regarding who is supposedly who and yet the only rumors are who is replacing Christian Bale .. since WB is hellbent on doing the JLA film first followed by solo films, each solo film will be defined by the casting choice of who plays him/her in the JLA film and yet I have yet to read who will play Flash, Martian Manhunter, etc so until i do I will continue to think what I feel

lol i doubt they have five directors on their list, if so who?? and please provide a link instead of hyperbole

I don't like to assume that it's going to fail until the movie comes out. Also, depending on the director and cast. People said the same thing about Nolan's Batman movies and they turned out well.

IGN is reporting that it (may) have been leaked that only Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern will be part of the Justice League movie

edit: Apparently it's latino review -

^ They should have Green Arrow Imo. He's a lot more well known now after Smallville and Arrow. Plus it would be good for Bats to have some non super powered company.

But it's probably good they're not going to push for too many of them for the first film seen as they likely won't have solo movies first.

I don't think Green Arrow will really add anything more to the movie other than being another human for the sake of adding another human.

I'd actually be okay if the roster mentioned by BW was the full roster.

You're gonna want to show why each of these characters are important.

Yeah and no Aquaman it seems

snub to the his fan crowd.

Meh I can see why they would leave him off.

A royal, nobel, and badd@$$ warrior from a long forgotten, powerful nation that has long since been regarded as myth coming to the add of humanity in its hour of need.

You could use that for both Aquaman and Wonder Woman. So I can see them picking one or the other for the first movie and if it comes down to a choice obviously Wonder Woman is going to get the nod before AM.

Now I'm sure PR is going to come in and teach me a thing or two about why I'm stupid for using such a vague staetment to describe AM 😛

But I honestly think that's about all the coverage and detail you'll be able to get from the first movie for the character.

make sense to me. A darkseid angle is very very ambitious.

I'd just focus on the big guns myself and introduce the lesser knowns in the future films. Arrow, Martian, and Cyborg.

Oh I agree. My point was that (Green) Arrow is probably pretty well known by now. And will likely be a lot more so by the time this movie comes out.

Rumor has it, Matthew Vaughn is the director.

I don't know how I feel about this.

Where is this rumor?

Well, he did do First Class which was pretty great.

All I'm going to say is that they're not as similar as you might think. I should scold you anyway for being so inaccurate, though. His story is more like Superman than Wonder Woman.

He's one of the founding members either way (and has been a founding member in pretty much every retcon too); he should be in this movie. Leaving him out is like leaving out Flash or Green Lantern.

Vaughn knows his shit; I'd trust him.

So, do you think he'll do a good job on the film? Supposedly someone from Variety tweeted a tease about this.

I think he's someone I could trust, yes. He got First Class right.

Could this be why he dropped out as director from the First Class sequel?

Let's hope so.

there is no reason for me to think otherwise at this point

I'm not saying they are similar I'm just saying they will probably end coming off as similar to most audiences with the time restrictions a film presents

Not if they're at all accurate to the source material. Not being snippy, I just think it would take a decent amount of bastardisation to make them remotely similar is all.
