DC's Shared universe will start with...

I thought he was fine in the scenes when he was just Hal being Hal. The script let him down, I think.

Wasn't the script.

The script they shot, then.

Ryan Reynolds wasn't the problem.
Neither was the script.

It was likely decisions that the Director & Producer made.

It was the story and direction that was bad.

Also Hal was portrayed as the funny man but he wasn't funny.

But yeah Reynolds did nothing wrong himself. But it's probably a good idea changing him to make sure people know this is different to that crap.

Yep, Hal was supposed to be their Tony Stark (the cocky, cool, funny, somewhat arrogant, ladies man)

My main problems with the GL movie were:
Use of constructs. I think they really failed to deliver on the use of the ring, Hals constructs were boring and childish...the race car 🙁

Choice of villains. I think they chose 2 of the worst villains to start a series up. Hector is just boring, and they did not pull off parallax well
I never felt like Hal was in Danger.

Better choices of villains IMO would've been: one Of the Corps Leader (larf, Atroc) or even Solomon Grundy.
Or simply interpreted Parallax differently (they made him a freaking cloud with a head)

But is Hal Jordan look that in the comics?

He is to a point, just with more demons and less money.

A little more details on Dark Universe.

This is the only concrete shared universe news for DC right now. It should be really good since, not only is he a great director, it's his idea and passion for these characters is what's driving him. This is going to be on par with or better than Whedon and Nolan's work.

There is some bad new for the shared DC universe. I'm starting to loose hope for a JLA film. It's sad considering a solo 2D Batman film can compete with a 3D Avengers film.

WB/DC has only themselves to blame

Supposedly Dark Universe will be apart of their shared universe. That is if WB green lights it and Del Toro completes it.

Ah crap. I knew that just sounded too smart for WB. Nolan's Batman and MOS leading a JL world would have surpassed Avengers Imo.

Because like you said his Batman alone was competing.

Awesome news if true!

Seems like Man of Steel is going to be the starting point for the shared universe. Seems legit to me being featured in Entertainment Weekly and all. I'm guessing MOS is going to do big numbers.

Let's hope they do it right this time. Another Green Lantern would ****ing bury DC.

Anyone want to guess what the Easter egg is in the MOS movie that will lead to a Justice League film?

Anyone want to guess who will actually direct it?

Assuming the reports are true, I have no idea.

I'd like it to be something as considerable as what we got with the Marvel movies, though.

Likely something involving Lex, Batman, or Wonder Woman. In fact, I'd wager Batman could act as the Nick Fury of the DC universe. His very global monitoring of all the heroes would put him leaps ahead of Nolan Batman and put him near comic book status.

Batman = Fury/Iron Man
Superman = Captain America
WW = Thor

JJ Abrams directs it.
