Why is there a man sized sentinel and movie Abomination looking over his corpse?
It's like he has it coming no matter what the universe.

Anyway, why AoU is supposedly canon and not just another alternate future...?
Because this event is literally getting ignored as we speak.
Unless it's only canon to 616 Ultron or something as he's mucking with shit from 616 or some big reveal. Or Sue and Logan traveled to 616 and are living as those characters, or something dumb.
Although it'd be hilarious if they kept fighting dinosaurs and never resolved the Ultron problem.
So what are the chances Pym gets put back into continuity and Ultron will be erased from time and never existed removing the fall of Pym from 616.
Makes more sense to go back in time and talk to Pym about not making Ultron instead of flat out killing him. I mean once you go back in time you kinda have the time to chat don't you?

He's already confirmed to be alive and well with the Avengers A.I. book coming out post Age of Ultron.
Yeah I noticed that. It's what made me think Ultron might be the one to suffer at the end of this storyline if anyone will. Friend thought if Ultron is removed it would open the world up for a unquestioned AI avengers team headed by Pym of all people (his words) and vision can be explained away.
I don't think that is so as Ultron not existing screws up alot of crap but honestly I just want this crap to have some sort of ramification. I have a feeling Ultron might be a tool of Kang or something and Ultron isn't really in control.. This is the first time iv seen him be so totally detached and his proxy bots not showing some of his personality and issues.
I'm actually liking AoU so far, it's more about the consequences of time travel and trying to change the past then it is about Ultron... but that suits me just fine. I find that conceit infinitely more interesting than whatever Ultron is doing in his Post Judgment Day Skynet future time line. This at least opens the door for some character work. /shrug

You find it better than Ultron's future because Bendis wrote it poorly. This story seems more about Bendis trying to brainstorm around his Pym hate more than an actual storyline.

I didn't find the writing in the Ultron future to be poor, merely I found the overall premise to be trite and cliche. A story exploring the dangers of time travel and how the different choices a character makes affect the world around them is more interesting to me than then one millionth redux of "I'm an angry robot who hates humans. DESTROY! DESTROY! 101010010!" There is a reason to be invested in whats happening now, I couldn't care less about a robot battle with Emperor Ultron.
