Indeed he is.

Btw, that's a pretty great feat for Speed Demon - faster than ss, thousands of punches in a fraction of a second? No wonder Hyperion looked like a statue compared to him.

No wonder?

How so?

Hyperion has superior speed feats to that. It was sheer PIS that Hyperion was outspeeded by him.

Yeah, last I heard, it was just a mini-series. If they bumped it to an ongoing, that's ridiculous.

Far as I know right from the start it was an on-going and seems it still is.

Ugh.

A series blatantly and unapologetically killing people to put over Arcade as a villain is one of the worst recent ideas yet.

I have a question. Why, in Spidey'd body, would Octavious be a super-hero?

He does have Peter's memories and playing the hero is better than going back to be hunted by the law all the time. I suppose he's going to make questionable heroic choices though.

You'll love this quote then...

Marvel.com: This is a sizable cast, bigger than most team books. Then again, that probably won’t be a challenge for too long. Rumor has it that people die?

Dennis Hopeless: [Laughs] Yeah. It's sort of ridiculous how huge our cast is at the start. But if you're going to kill a lot of characters you gotta have a lot of characters.

There are 17 in issue one. 16 kids and Arcade. That's quite a bit bigger than even most team books and it does make the writing a little more challenging. There's just no way to keep everyone on the board all the time. So, yeah, we shift the focus from issue to issue. We may have two issues dedicated to the Braddock Academy and then let them recede into the background for a while so we can hang out with the Runaways.

Eh, yes

Combat speed feats...?

Traded punches with Gladiator within nanoseconds.

Throwing a punch in a nanosecond >(a shit ton) Thousands of punches in a fraction of a second.

The Hyperion feat gets overstated, tbh.

Cable and X-Force was an interesting start... Maybe next issue we'll see more of Colossus.

Reading Arena #1 makes me think it's gotta be some kind of Matrix style illusion, considering Arcade seemed to aquire godlike powers out of nowhere.

You read Arena? I hope for your sake you didn't pay for it uhuh

Arcade never did seem to have a power set, he reminds me strongly of Toyman from DC.

I'm theorizing he hooked up all the kids in a dream machine and he will be defeated in the end. Mettle was the perfect target to die (supposedly), because he is invulnerable to everything.

I really hope this is all some kind of dream or other pseudo-alt. reality gimmick because killing some of these characters off at the hands of Arcade, who somehow looks even more stupid than before, would be a waste.

Agreed plus I have a hard time believing that once the Academy kids went missing that Pym wouldn't have found them within two hours. Along with sending out a distress signal asking for any help he could get from Reed, Tony, Strange, and SHIELD.
