I think killing off Mettle is stupid anyway, regardless of his race.

Avengers Arena is a dumbass concept for a book to begin with.

I was liking the Avengers Academy and the stories going on with it. Mettle was one of my favorites.

This comic is going to be bloody disgusting. Avengers Acad was my fav Marvel comic after GotG was cancelled and Mettle was an awesome character.
I remember when the Human Torch was killed off and the Marvel Execs saw money signs. One guy announced they were going to kill off a character every month. And they pretty much have been doing it ever since.

He is currently, though whether or not that will change by #700 of Amazing Spider-Man and #1 of Superior Spider-Man is anyone's guess.

Though, judging from the dialogue alone in the above scans, it definitely appears as if Superior Spider-Man is Octavious.

I'm guessing it's his way of trolling Parker and getting the ultimate revenge; ie. proving he could be a "superior" Spider-Man than he could.

He probably has ulterior motives, though. And supposedly, Superior Spider-Man is going to date Mary Jane or something along those lines.

This effectively makes Otto, if he will indeed be the Superior Spider-Man, one of the greatest modern trolls in comic history.
