It's clearly movie inspired, but most of the Avengers comics out there now are taking their cues from the film.
My favorite Cap costume is actually Commander Rogers' suit, which Nick Fury, Jr. ( 😐 ) is wearing now.
Anyway, between Uncanny Avengers and Avengers, which series do you think will be better? And which one had the better first issue?
No, his mother was black. Nick Fury is his dad.
Though, to be fair, this isn't the first time that a biracial character has basically been drawn as being exclusively one race.
Marcus Johnson was his given name as to avoid being linked to Fury, but after suffering an accident of some kind, he just so happens to lose an eye and goes bald. Honestly, it was one of the cheapest and insulting ploys/gimmicks just to please movie fans who didn't get that Nick Fury in the comics (barring the Ultimate verse) was a white dude.

While that's obviously what it is, but to be fair sometimes mixed people do look like one race just less common.

True enough, they do, but originally, artistically speaking, Marcus Johnson looked lighter skinned and could have more easily passed off as being biracial. Since the "Nick Fury, Jr." revelation, they've since drawn him as being darker skinned and the like.
I'm not opposed to the art or even the fact that he is mixed (I am after all), but the cheap "let's put a black Nick Fury in the 616 universe" plot is just stupid.
"For years to come the shadow of Peter Parker is going to be draped over the book. There's nothing you can do about that. But new cast members will come in. Life goes on. Peter Parker fans will sort of fade away over the months and years, and you'll have a bunch of people who only know the new cast. It's probably similar to what happened with Ben Reilly back in the day. And fans seem to want him back."

Cover for Uncanny Avengers #6:
Apocalypse vs. Thor.
"A lot of this story picks arc from the Dark Angel Saga from Uncanny X-Force, though it's not a sequel. We've spent a lot of time incorporating Kang and also Thor into Apocalypse's mythology. The fun of Uncanny Avengers is the A meeting the X in a big way. You don't need to have read the Dark Angel Saga to understand this, but if you have, here's where that picks back up. In that story, Archangel impregnated Pestilence. Whatever she gives birth to is going to be a problem for people and also involve Kang's machinations and scheming."
