STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Initiation

Where/what is Dontos? I take it Rianna knows of the location...

"How can we be going there?" she asks.

Dontos was destroyed! Or so the legends go. It was bombarded from orbit until some Sith superweapon ruptured the planet's core. They used it at a training ground at some point.

"Because I know where it is," Rand claims.

"But I thought it was destroyed, long ago..." Rianna says. "How can you know where it is? It's not supposed to even exist any longer."

Rand laughs.

"Not all legends are true. A natural disaster washed the life from Dontos and it was evacuated, thousands and thousands of years ago. Something of that magnitude tends to wipe a world from the records. I located it sometime ago, during my years as a Jedi."

You will be taking Arneth's old assault ship that Vash has commandeered. Vash can still pilot the thing one-handed, so long as nothing demanding is required. Rand is content to sit co-pilot while you ride in the passenger seat.

"I see..."

Rianna's fine with that, I suppose.

Vash is less than happy to have you aboard, of course. You sense his anger keenly. Nothing is said. The ship takes off from a private landing pad at the hospital, and jets into space before you can even think to ask Rand what planet you were on. All you know is that it was ashy and cold... and rich.

Vash can be angry, and Rianna doesn't care.

She's not hugely pleased about being there herself, and is hoping that at least she can rest while they're flying a bit.

You can get some shut-eye. Wholesome sleep never hurt anyone. Except it won't be enough to heal your hurts. You drift off.

Rand turns to wake you when you feel the ship drop out of hyperspace above a mold-green planet below. He smiles when he notices you have woken.

"Welcome to Dontos," Rand says. "Nobody will find us here."

Even from orbit you can see the storms roiling across the surface of the planet, and great oceans that take up most of the surface. Rand feeds the nav-comp some coordinates to assist Vash with the landing process, and the vessel descends into the angry swirl of clouds.

The minute you meet atmosphere, the ship begins rocking. Vash is straining at the control, grasping at the clutch with a single hand while Rand grins devilishly.

"I can't hold it...!" Vash complains. You sense genuine fear in him.

"Well, you'd better hold it!" Rianna says, holding on to the armrests of the seat (assuming there are some) as the ship starts rocking. "Rand, what are you grinning about? Did you set this up intentionally as some sort of stupid test?!"

"You're not going to help your new ally?" Rand asks.

Vash is too busy struggling with the controls to respond.

"Help how?! I don't know the first thing about flying a ship!"

"You can't just reach forward and help him with the thing he's straining with most?" Rand asks.

"I'd be just as likely to crash the ship right now as he would be..." Rianna grumbles. "Fine. Get out of the way, Vash, and tell me what to do. I'll land this damned thing if I have to..."

She'll move to do so, wincing as her injuries rather disagree with all of this.

It is a simple Dexterity roll to help Vash pull back on the steering yoke! And with the ship under control, you can begin the descent comfortably as you pull down and out of the turbulence.

"What the hell, Rand," Vash snarls.

Rand just smiles and says, "Teamwork."

Rianna sits back down in her seat, glaring at Rand. "And what if I had refused? Maybe I should have..."

"You didn't," Rand says simply.

Having gotten beneath the worst of the storming, Vash is able to bring the ship down to a place that Rand has indicated: a cliffside beside an ancient structure. The structure appears to have been some sort of coastal fortress, made of stone, overlooking a small bay. It and the cliffs have been smoothed by millennia of crashing waves.

Once Vash lands, Rand says to disembark the craft.

"Head for the cliffs," Rand says.

"We're not climbing those, are we?" Rianna asks, not entirely sure she'd be able to in her current state.

Also is she still without her lightsaber?

(Well, sabers now...)

Yes. You have no idea where they are, actually.

Vash has landed at the top of the cliffs, so climbing them is unnecessary!

Well that's good at least.

And Rianna shall ask Rand then!

"Where is my lightsaber?"
