STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Initiation

Rand is walking toward the cliffs and doesn't answer the question. Vash wordlessly follows him, bumping into you as he leaves the ship.

You note that Vash is unarmed as well; his gun holster is gone and his lightsaber is missing.

Rianna glares at both of them with frustration, following after. She's displeased about being unarmed but feels slightly better that Vash is as well.

Rand has stepped up to the edge of the cliff, and gestures for you and Vash to do the same.

"Look down," Rand says.

Rianna will do so- at least she isn't afraid of heights.

What's down there?

Powerful waves are crashing against the base of the cliffs, and among the waves are thin rock spires that clutter the bay. They look like remnants of cliff faces that used to be there, eons ago. They go all the way across.

"What are you trying to show us?"

"The way across the bay," Rand says.

"What about it?"

"It's the way you're going," Rand says. "Jump down and cross."

"...are you insane?!" Rianna exclaims. "I can't do that!"

"You can," Rand says.

"Maybe if I wasn't so injured..."

"Do you want to earn your health back?" Rand asks.

The Dark Jedi Master produces a pistol from his cloak and presses it into Vash's hand.

"Then prove to me that you can cross this bay."

"Master...?" Vash asks.

"Shoot her in the legs if she does not comply," Rand orders with a grin.

Rianna stares at the two incredulously for a moment, suddenly incredibly afraid. She doesn't trust Vash not to just simply shoot her anyway...

She'll start cautiously making her way down the cliff side. She's not going to rush and risk falling and injuring herself further.

I assume the rock spires are placed close enough together that they can be jumped across? Rianna will try and jump to the first one, using the Force to steady herself and help her make the jump as best she can. If that goes well, she'll continue across. If not...guess we're seeing how well she can swim in this state.

"How did I get into this mess..." she mutters to herself, looking back up at the other two before starting to try and cross.

If she does make it across in one piece...she's very tempted to see how far she can run before they've made it over.

"I sense your fear!" Rand shouts down to you as you gingerly make you way down the cliff face. "Use it!"

Vash sends a shot whizzing past you when he decides you aren't going fast enough.

The rock spires on this side are closer together that you can hop easily from one to the other without too much effort. They begin to space out the further you go...

And Vash appears to be dropping down after you.

Rianna grows more nervous as Vash begins to follow her- she'd prefer to be well away from him. She pushes herself to move faster, trying to ignore her injuries to simply get across as quickly as possible.

It is going to be Agility rolls of increasing difficulty to make it across. And if you fail, it will be Strength rolls to hoist yourself back up.

The first major gap is the simplest to cross as you leave the wider, more stable spires for a narrower one ahead of you. Your Leaping pool is four dice due to your injuries... yet three 6s is certainly enough to clear the gap!

You hop over onto the spire, though you land awkwardly.

Vash is remaining a safe distance behind and shooting periodically at you. His shots go wide. You cannot tell if it is intentional or not.

Rianna is hoping that he's intentionally shooting wide, though the fact that he'a firing at her at all both angers and frightens her. After she recovers from her awkward landing she'll leap to the next spire.

Also she will continue to be stubborn and refuse to give in to her emotions, despite how afraid she is right now.

The next spire is farther away and even more narrow than the last. You hurl yourself across the empty space toward it... and land just short! You only got one success when you needed two.

You are now clinging to the spire perilously as the waves crash below you.

A laser from Vash explodes on the next spire over!

Rianna flinches as she clings to the rock, before pulling herself up and climbing to the top. If she can angle herself so that she's safe from Vash as she does so, she will (like move around to the other side of it or something).
