STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Initiation

A straight jump is not going to do you from here, lacking the ability to build momentum while hanging from the side of the spire. This requires a plan or some impressive maneuver.

Are there any areas on the spire other than the top where there's room for her to stand that she could climb to?

No.

Hrm.

Well really all I had in mind was climbing back to the top...

Which will get you shot.

So, jumping won't work, climbing is out, swimming didn't work too well...

As Vash's shooting scared the chompy fish, what about a Force-assisted jump into the water as far from the spire as possible, and then a fear-boosted swim to the cliff?

Swimming won't get you very far.

Jumping off the spire has its uses... you could build momentum that way, you think... normally the cliff face ahead of you would be an easy jump if you weren't so knackered.

Would it be reachable with spending on Great Leap?

It is possible.

Let's try it!

To confirm- Rianna is going to tap into her emotions for this?

Yes.

Then it is that you let yourself reach in and pull out the emotional blocks that you have worked so hard to maintain. You feel a sudden surge as you spring off of the spire and hit the opposing cliff face... and spring off again, back to the spire. You repeat the process, heading higher with each rebound. You don't even feel the pain in your leg; you're too angry to care.

Six successes on your Leaping check is enough to make it to the top. You land heavily just over the cliff's edge and collapse onto the mossy rocks.

Rand is already standing there, applauding.

"Get away from me," Rianna snaps as she gets back up from where she made her final landing. She's certainly angry, for sure - angry at Vash for trying to shoot her, angry at Rand for causing this, and angry at herself for giving in like she did.

The anger lingers, then, but not the power. Which confuses you; you are no less angry, and yet the pain in your leg returns, worse than before.

And then you also sense that Vash is just as angry and has joined you on the cliff. His blaster is still raised.

"Back off, Vash..." Rianna hisses, wincing at the pain in her leg; she must have hurt it worse in her final leaps up to the top of the cliff. "I made it across, just like Rand wanted...so back off."

That only seems to anger Vash, and he opens fire! You prepare to dive clear...

Except the bolt meets with Rand's lightsaber instead and is thrown back into the gun, taking it out of Vash's hand in a shower of sparks.

Rand says nothing to Vash, who just sulks, as he returns his lightsaber to his belt and offers you his arm.

"You did well," Rand says to you.

Rianna will stubbornly refuse Rand's help.

"I shouldn't have lost control of my emotions like that..." she says, still glaring at Vash. She's going to remain wary of him, though...

"You did exactly what you needed to do to survive," Rand states.

"I won't do it again..." she says, more to herself than anything else.

Did she actually take anymore damage during that whole ordeal?
