STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Initiation

"Too late to change that," Vash says. "And just wet rocks."

The fortress must have been built thousands upon thousands of years ago, Rianna. Hard to tell anything particular about its design, with everything eroded and smooth as it is. Or knocked over.

"Are we going in?" Vash says.

"Yes," Rianna says, pausing for a moment before entering. Does she sense anything about it? Any danger from going in?

It 'stinks' of death just as the rest of the planet does. But nothing dangerous that you can sense. It certainly shields you from the drizzle and wind. Pale light filters through cracks and gaps in the roof. All features are washed clean or grown over with moss and mold.

Vash just grunts with disinterest.

"I bet Rand loves how this feels," Vash says.

Rianna almost smiles at that comment...it's probably true.

"At least it's not wet and windy in here..." she says. What's there in here to explore?

The seaside fortress is of simple design. The battlements were knocked down long ago by the waters, and some of the chambers are flooded still. The rear portion was swept out to sea, and the upper floors seem... less than stable.

Anything of interest was taken or destroyed long ago. Your senses do not direct you anywhere in here; all you can sense is that lingering death death death.

Rianna would kind of like to check out the upper floors...but she's not exactly in the best state and she still doesn't trust Vash.

"I don't like the feel of this place...let's go," she says. "Pick something, I don't care where."

"What's wrong with this?" Vash says. "It's not like there's anything really different nearby. Everything's wet and dead. Or hungry."

"I don't sense that there's anything useful or interesting here...just lots of death. So much that it's lasted all this time, and I don't like it at all."

"I don't mind it when it's in a fight," Vash says, squirming a little. "But this is different. Rand probably knows what happened. I'm kind of curious."

"I don't revel in death," Rianna says shortly. "But I am as well..."

"How can you revel in swordplay if you don't enjoy the outcome?" Vash asks. "That's the only time you're not morose, from what I can tell."

"I enjoy fighting. I enjoy using my skill in it, as it's the one thing I'm good at. That does not mean I enjoy killing," Rianna replies. "And what is that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing," Vash says.

He picks out an old, mossy staircase and gingerly climbs the steps.

"Maybe we'll see something from up here," Vash says.

"Lead on," she says with some irritation and sarcasm.

The mossy staircase is built into the curved wall of chamber, which is very open due to missing segments of wall and ceiling. It takes you to a second level where you can look out over the area.

The ocean is very prominent, of course, as well as the rocky coastline below and the forest far off.

Is there anything that they can see up here that looks like it could be interesting?

I think only Rianna can define what Rianna thinks is interesting! You see what you can see.

Well, she's going to cautiously poke around in the ruins, see if there's anything to find here...

From poking around, you can figure out what the purpose of these ruins used to be. It was a fortress for holding the coastline. There used to be a multitude of balconies facing out toward the sea, and there are still rusted mountings for heavy weapons of some sort... probably catapults? Also slits for archers... or snipers. You aren't sure how old this is.

"I wonder what this place was like before...well, before all of this destruction..." Rianna says, starting to sort through debris to see if there's anything other than trash here.
